1. Times Picayune reporting the Hornets have fired Tim Floyd. Press conference at 12:30.
  2. Can the Tigers hire him to replace Brady?
  3. Maybe Brady will hire him as an assistant. Don't we have a couple of positions open?
  4. Wow, sounds like the Saints management team. They fire Silas after taking the team to the playoffs and then Fire Floyd after one season in which his best 2 players were hurt most of the season and they still made the playoffs. If they fired Floyd after just one season they may have a hard time finding a quality coach willing to take over. :dis: :dis: :dis: :dis:
  5. Seeing as the consensus was that Floyd was a bad hire immediately after he was hired, along with the fact that his players have publicly spoken out about their desire (or lack thereof) to play for him, I'm totally indifferent about the firing. It was a waste of a season in my book.
  6. If he was such a bad hire from the start why did the idiots in charge hire him to begin with? Also don't you think that they will have a hard time finding a quality coach to become their 3rd head coach in three seasons?
  7. The pampered types....

that make up many teams' rosters these days makes predicting coaching hires risky at best. It's the coach who has command of his players that seems to end up most successful. Floyd did not and perhaps won't ever. Hell, at that level they're a bunch of good "x & o" guys.
  8. We started out redhot, and then barely made the playoffs at 41-41. We're moving to the Western Conference next year. That record would have tied us for 10th in the West this past season.
  9. What you're failing to acknowlegde is that Silas had been taking the Hornets to the first round of the playoffs for a number of years before they moved the team to New Orleans. He always failed to take them past that point. Remember, he was the coach in Charlotte?
  10. yep he was 0-4 or 0-5 in 1st round of the playoffs but it did seem if not for those injuries his last year the team was on the way up. Seemed they were coming together unlike this year they just totally collapsed. Floyd was a bad hire and most felt this way beforehand. Silas' record was around 200-150 which was pretty darned good..I just wish they had gave him one more year just because the players seemed to really like him and play hard which is what you need nowadays or they just flat out quit.
