LSU has kicked off an initative that will remind students to not use disgraceful lyrics in songs ling Neck and Tiger Rag. OBJ and Landry have recorded videos in support of the program, and stickers and flyers will be distributed. I don't see this ending the way the administration wants it to end.
Problem is this was something LSU was going to have to do sooner or later if they really view this as a serious issue. The ham-handed attempts by the administration and Tiger Band to snuff it out unilaterally by cutting out songs and not directly engaging students just isn't working, and the sense of rebelliousness that generated probably made things worse. Should something like this be necessary? No, this behavior is incredibly childish. But the situation is what it is.
The way I see it, stop letting your ticket prices be levied by fuckers who charge 2 and 300 bucks a ticket. Stop selling out to CBS and do something about all the good home games being played at 2:30. Until then I could give a fuck, and I hope they all curse.
Who needs tradition when you can act like an ass? Next will be a profanity laden Alma Mater so we can send out a strong F.U. to all those who paved the way ahead of us. Yawn.
