1. I occasionally set a few traps for coons. Caught these the other night. I was trapping them for a friend who farms and has crawfish. They'll knock over a lot of traps in a night.

I was get 5 bucks a piece for them from my custodian and a couple of other democrats.

  2. It's inhumane. I used to do it.
  3. I dispatch them with a .22 at point blank range. I do kinda feel sorry for them in a way. I had a pet one years ago and have always found them intriguing. They're a nuissance though. Deer hunters get pics from game cams that have many on film. I've seen as many as 8 eating at a feeder (pics of, not personally) at once.
  4. That's not the inhumane part obviously.

Yes they eat. It's what they do.
  5. The foot-hold traps for coons are not painful for them. It's not the traditional one you're probably thinking about. Or do you think catching/holding an animal by its foot is inhumane under any circumstances?
  6. We used to trap them in those little foot snares baited with a marshmellow. Coons can't resist marshmellows.
  7. Yeah that's what I use. I squeeze a little blackberry jelly on them too.

  9. Only caught two. Took pic of one in the trap live but it was blurry blurry. Went run them at 4:30 a.m. before the roads iced up so I was in a hurry.
