Run him a few times against Auburn and with his speed you never can tell.Instead we run 250lb out of shape rb on toss plays.
I think someone cleared this up, but, regardless, I wasn't saying put Doucet and Holliday in on the same play, but that would be sick. I'm more just saying to keep doing these plays with Holliday running it and Doucet running it from the QB position...Mix it up every now and then...
Yeah, a little creativity is always good, a la "The Tebow jump pass" what an excellent call that was. I was so pissed that they caught us on that one. Our defense is not easily fooled.
Heads will not roll regardless of what the outcome is. Miles is doing what most coaches do. He is playing his most experienced people. I really think the big problem in the running game is the offensive line more than the runners. But I do agree that Broussard and Vincent have been disappointments this year. Broussard seems to have lost the weight he needed, and that may be why he is finally playing up to his potential. I am not at all convinced this "run by committee" is the way to go. I would also like to see Holliday and particularly Williams play more, particularly since Williams has lost his redshirt year and may be the best running back on the team. Why not start him in a game and see what he does? The ground game has been so anemic that it could not hurt. I can understand a coach playing his most experienced players, but if they are not producing you have to be flexible enough to try something else. The roster can't be etched in granite. I really believe Holliday and Williams will be the tandem of the future, so why not pull them out now and see if they can add a spark to the ground game. Just a thought.
This may be one of the worse Olines I've seen at LSU in a long time. A good back would certainly help, but there are way too many tackles behind the line. It's like a jail break on some of our runs. Don't know if it's talent or coaching, but it's really bad this year. I like what I see from Williams. Sort of like AB, a big back with speed. I want to see him earlier in the game. Don't think Holliday will be a great RB, he's just too small for the SEC. I think he can be used for special plays like last night, but he's not one who can tote the ball 15-20 times a game. I think his real value will be returning kicks and punts. Man, he is fast.
Drinking that media Kool Aid? Tebow didn't have to jump. He was nearly back on the ground when he threw it up. That little bit of showboating nearly cost them an easy TD.
Hey the kid is a freshman. Miles is working him into the games. He got a shot a punt returns in game one, but he fumbled. Miles took responsibility for putting a freshman in a spot like that. He has been used as a slot man on reverses several times since then and last game they lined him up a tailback. He will be worked into the passing game in time, too. He is being used wisely. You must remember that Holliday is 5-foot-nothin' and a hundred-and-nothin'. He will not be able to take the pounding that a running back in the SEC gets. We have Scott and Williams for power running. Holliday will be an all-purpose specialty back in his LSU career and I expect to see him at receiver, running back, and returning punts/kickoffs. Whenever we need blazing speed. He's no good to us injured, so Jimbo will play him sparingly.
