1. I just read that Troy will be playing Arkansas St. this Saturday at 7pm. Anybody know what channel that would be on, and if we get that here in BR? I know nothing about Troy and would like to flip and watch a few parts of the game if possible. Looking at Troy's record, they don't play well on the road... and I imagine Death Valley shall be brutal to them.
  2. Why would any Sun Belt conference game be on television?
  3. its Elesshu...
  4. Just about all Troy games are on TV out here. They're usually on UPN so maybe a UPN affialiate might carry it in B.R. ? I doubt it, but you never know.
  5. He's talking about Troy St. v Arkansas St. That might be on tv around Alabama but certainly won't here.

I believe it will be on TigerVision for those that want to see it in Baton Rouge.
  6. Yea, I know who he's talking about. I'm just bragging that I'll be able to watch it

    Just kidding.
  7. I watched Troy play Missouri &-at that time, anyway-Heisman hopeful Brad Smith.

They had a decent defense, but I thought I saw two problems with the actual game itself.

Number one, Missouri's coaching staff should lose their jobs for what they did to Smith. This guy made his name as an electrifying run/pass threat, and they had him glued to the pocket the entire game. The announcers were speaking about how they were wanting him to showcase his passing talents since everyone already knew he could run, so they were instructing him to stay in the pocket more.

That's all fine & well, but if you ask me, in football, you stick with the old adage, "You dance with who brung ya."

In other words, you WON FOOTBALL GAMES doing something different. Why would you change something that's been so successful for this kid, on a team and an individual level?

I don't know, but it was apparent that Smith could throw, but was seriously limited in scope from an offensive playmaker standpoint. The Troy defense picked it up, and they sat on the pass. They ended up making him looking silly on some picks, and here lies the 2nd problem I saw with the game.

Missouri left Troy in the game too long. When you leave an inferior team in the game-or more to the point, you allow a team to have confidence by allowing the score to remain close-you run the case of their emotion bridging the talent gap.

They sat on the passes, they got a crazy score on defense, and their offense got a fire lit underneath it and Troy ended up winning against them.

Unless I'm wrong, I think LSU will pulverize this team. I sure wish they had a better record, as we need W's versus marquee opponents after stumbling through our Murderer's Row this year...

    All in all, I see a "W"...
