dayum.... i still laugh just thinking about that picture... that was awesome
  2. It was completely classless and immature. But then again, what do you expect from USC? The thing that gets me is, I've read in sports media (yesterday on collegefootballnews.com, i think) writers that comment on how great his shirt was. Aren't these the same sports writers telling LSU fans to get over the split national title?
  3. I say f*ck the BCS and f*ck the AP.....we should've just played one more game. But the system adapted by all Div-I schools is the BCS, and USC signed it too! The AP makes up a fraction of the BCS, so they have a fraction of the championship?

Why do we even have two polls? Which one is more credible? One says that you're better based on statistical supporting data. The other (AP) says you're better because some idiot thinks so......just so stupid.

Leinhart.....and USC need to get rid of those stupid tshirts, and face it. Tulane did when they went 12-0......we didn't change or amend the BCS for them did we????????????????????????
  4. There are 3 polls . . . AP, coaches, and BCS. It's tough to say which is more credible. The BCS is the only one that doesn't have some sort of human biased attached to it (since all the teams start off at the same level). The AP can vote however they like, and will tend to vote larger market (or historic) programs higher than others taking into account the last few years. The coaches poll is biased since it's dirty little secret is that coaches rarely vote for themselves. The coaches poll is also hampered by conference bias since teams within a conference tend to vote for their top teams over teams out of the conference. The BCS is the only one that doesn't have any sort of human bias or problems. It's a formula set up before the season, and you are right everyone agrees to play by those rules.

I think a combo of all 3 are fine, it is the best way to judge teams when you have 120 playing in a single season. I just have a problem with the changes this year since it doesn't solve last year's problem (a team without a conference title playing for the NC). The only reason I'm against a playoff or mini playoff is that every season will not work out like last year. I think it is unfair to make an undefeated team coming off a bowl win to play a team with 1, 2, or 3 losses, for a NC. The only way it would work is if the top 2 teams have equal records after the bowls.

SC should get over it, considering they got a share of the title anyway. I don't understand the complaints since they appear to be happy to follow the rules this year . . . if it all goes there way. Don't forget, SC complained the year before as well even though they had 2 losses. So it's not new for them.

I can't compare Marshall or Tulane's undefeated seasons to SC last year, since SC didn't go undefeated (of course both Marshall and Tulane are not in BCS conferences, so most people would complain if they got a chance to play for an NC, or in a BCS bowl, over a BCS conference team with 1 or 2 losses). I don't think that is fair either, but I can accept the arguements about strength of schedule.

I don't think multiple polls are the problem. The real problem are teams, coaches, media, etc all agreeing to follow a certain set of rules, then complaining about it when it doesn't go there way. SC's real bitch is with OK, not us, since we both won our conference titles and had equal records.

I could respect SC's complaint if they would agree to ignore the BCS this year and play in the Rose, no matter the final standings. But they won't, and will happily accept a BCS NC bid if the rules work to their favor. A playoff won't solve any problems, but it will create new ones. It is possible for a 4 loss BCS conference team to win a NC under a playoff format.
  5. Just for the record, the BCS is not a poll in and of itself. It's a compilation of 3 factors. I think you were trying to get at the computer polls, which is not the BCS polls. The three factors that have equal weight are the AP poll, the Coaches poll, and the compilation of the computer polls.

The BCS now is basically 2/3's biased, 1/3 unbiased.
  6. You are right, that is more accurate way of stating it. I meant the computer polls, but it's all good. You guys knew what I meant.
  7. ..
  8. That's the one. I owe you a rep point but Ihave to give some away before I can get back to you.
  9. Get over it ... all of it

First of all, its just a T-shirt, so untwist your panties.

More importantly, as an entire fan base, we need to get over hatred of USC. Its so petty, and it just makes us look insecure and defensive about our national championship. USC didn't do anything to LSU, and if the shoe were on the other foot LSU fans would be touting a national championship just as loud, if not louder, than USC fans are now.

The FUSC bumper sticker is lame for this reason, and its also very telling when compared to the shirt Lienart had on. His shirt didn't say F*CK LSU, it said F*CK THE BCS. That's an important distinction that people need to recognize.

Hate the AP voters, hate Roy Kramer's system, hate what happened, but when it comes to USC GET OVER IT.
