Didn't McNabb just sign long term to pretty much finish his career in Philly?

Seems like a strange place for Vick to sign. Could be a favor for Dungy, its only a one year deal with a team option. Probably league minimum salary too.

Vick wont play a lick at QB if McNabb is healthy although thats not a given. I like McNabb a lot, he's a class guy. Hope he is on board with this move.

Yeah, he is there for reasons other than being the backup QB.

Slot receiver? Wild CAt, Running back, Punt returner? Who knows.. But I don't think you pay 1.6 mil for a guy that can only play 12 games and has two years worth of rust on him to be a backup qb.

They won't be paying him the full 1.6 mil. That's is Full salary, they will pay 75% of that. It's actually a good deal for Vick. You go to an established "contenter". You take a full year and show you can be an asset to the team. Now his second year option is is for 3 mil I think. They won't pay that for him then but Phily may offer to extend his contract after the first year and actually give him a signing bonus. I'm actually impressed by the deal. Another example of how Phily manages their players' salaries like the best of them.
