Said it was a groin injury.

He tweeted that there is no keeping him from playing on sept 9.

    We shall see.

I hate the preseason for this reason.

    Other injuries:

Strief looked like he had a knee, nothing too serious I don't think
Shockey with possibly a mild concussion
Roby had some weird looking injury not sure how bad it was

    ParadiseiNC don't worry, be happy

soon as shockey got hit and looked dazed, i mumbled to myself "concussion". he'll probably be fine for the opener, but as everyone is beginning to hear about, concussions can add up to long term sequelae.

He'll probably just take a couple fistfulls of oxycontin and he'll be fine.

Everything appears to be a go for Vilma. He was sent to Philly today to get a 2nd opinion on his groin injury.

    Here are some tweets:

Vilma went to philly to see the doctor. No surgery, payton said, and he's on his way back to new orleans.

Payton also said they sent vilma to philly knowing he wouldn't need sports hernia surgery, but they wanted to make sure

    Official_Saints
Payton on @JonVilma51 "He will be out this week. We are optimistic that he is going to practice when we get started next Sunday."

Next Sunday meaning this upcoming Sunday when we start our preparation for the Vikings game.
