We may know the coach in the next 24 hours.

Interesting. LSU's bowl game will be ending in about 22 hours... Are they going to introduce the new coach at the post game press conference (or sooner)? I think only if it's Jimbo.

I heard that and if it is true that would sound like Petrino gets the gig. WAFB could be confused because most published reports have LSU still interviewing other candidates. I wouldn't mind Petrino but I would like to get some more interviews in and see who else may pop up. Where did the rumors of Beamer go, could someone please start another one of those?

I think in 24 hours we will be interviewing more, bigger candidates. Perhaps they caught wind of an interview and over reacted.

WAFB's comment: "Bertman says we should have a decision on LSU's head coach pretty soon. As a matter of fact, we could know in the next 24 hours who that coach will be."

Also, they showed some clips of Saban form today. Saban says LSU is looking in all the wrong places for a head coach. Without directly saying it, he insinuated that they should be looking right at home - ie Fisher, Muschamp, etc. He said a lot of hard work has been done in the past 5 years and he hopes that work continues. And that he hopes they do not get someone in for the job that does not continue that hard work. (I paraphrased all of this)

What they didn't make clear was whether Skip said we could know in the next 24 or if that was their opinion after talking to Skip.

Correct. They did not show him saying it or say it was a direct quote from him. They simply said it as I typed it. Hard to know iif it's a quote or if it's an interpretation of his comments. :(

I would have no problem with Jimbo taking over, he'd keep the staff fully intact. ..as much as possible.

What I would have a problem with, is if Jimbo didn't even get to interview. I know SKip said he would like to, but he also said he was looking for sitting head coaches. The guy deserves an interview.
