I thought the officiating was bad the first time i watched the game. Now i know it was bad. There is no excuse for officiating that bad. Most of the plays that were missed were in Bama's favor but their were a few calls on LSU that were missed too. Also i was very dissapointed watching the offensive execution in the 4th quarter. There were numerous chances to win that game in regulation. I also want to congratulate our defense for playing one of the best 2nd half's i have seen an LSU defense play.
Ahhh....its good to get someone's perspective that saw it a 2nd time Very good observations.....I haven't seen it a 2nd time....I was too stupid and didn't record it.....but you reiterated what I thought was true....that the officiating was piss poor overall, mostly in Bama's favor....and that the LSU offense went into "dumb" mode in the 4th quarter when all the momentum was on our side and we should have ended it then
islstl, in the 2003 season, I always looked forward to your posts. I considered you, "Tiger Forums" own BCS guru. You definately made my year in 2003. Right now, LSU has a very slim shot at the big dance. I do not think that criticizing the coaches does anything for a fan. LSU controls their own destiny in the SEC... MY GOD!!! What more could an LSU fan ask for? We just beat the #3 team in the nation in their house... Nothing is perfect in college football. How many games was USC behind in this year? College football is not perfect, but in the current system, LSU is doing as good as possible. If LSU were named Notre Dame, with this season, we might be #2 or #3 in the nation.
To reiterate, just because I question the coaching style, gameday decisions, etc, doesn't mean that I am not relishing in the fact that we beat Auburn, Florida and Alabama all in the same season. I am giddy as a little schoolgirl....believe me (no jokes please)
I agree...this will rank up there with the 2003 season up until the bowl game. Unless of course we sneek into the BCS title game and win it...then all bets are off.
Since when is making observations about a game throwing the Coaches under the Bus. This was a great win and i am one person who has supported our coaches as much as anyone on this forum. But i also make observations from games and i am going to tell the truth as i see it. He is just doing the same. I am pleased with the way our Coaches have come together and i think the more games they coach together the more comfortable they feel with each other. But like i said i dont think it is bad to discuss the good and the bad from games.
Calco, I know it's a different set of coaches and some different defensive schemes, but our defense in the second half reminded me of our efforts against Georgia in the 2003 SECCG and the national title game against Okie.
You will get no argument from me on that. Our defense was lights out in the second half. Landry's hit on Croyle was awesome. Like someone else said Brodie Croyle was never the same after that.
