1. I was talking to the kids I work with today about some of the foods they like to eat...I'm frightened from some of the things they told me:

Kool Aid (the powder) mixed with dry Ramen Noodles
Kool Aid (again, powder) mixed with Hot chips
Large dill pickles, dig out the seeds, stick a pepermint stick in the hollow part
Lg dill pickles, no seeds, stick Life Savers in hollow part
    Dry Ramen and Mayonaise
Hot chips, open bag, pour in pickle juice, enjoy

    Siiiick!

I dont have kids as of yet...is this normal? Is it a new thing?
  2. They are very normal, and also sick. Kids are normally retarded...in a cute way.
  3. while those combos sound sick (the pickle peppermint one has me gagging), i know i had some strange ones as a kid. one that comes to mind was hot fudge sauce and pickles on toast.

which makes me wonder. what were your gross combinations as a kid?????"
  4. flutie/coker
  5. One of my grandpaw's favorite things was Welch's grape juice over vanilla ice cream. I learned to love it as a little boy and still do.

My grandmother was a health nut way before the term was coined. No junk. Fresh fruit for snacks. No cokes. She used to give me prunes stuffed with peanut butter for snacks. This may be why I've always been a regular guy. :hihi:
  6. Kids will try anything. When I was a kid, I would put a bag of peanuts into a bottle of Dr. Pepper or a Grape Nehi. We all thought that was cool.

My aunt, who babysat a half dozen cousins in the summertime, would make us Kool-Aid pies. Best I can remember it was a can of condensed milk, a cup of sugar, and a packet of Kool-Aid mixed and poured into a pie shell and chilled in the fridge.

I also liked a fried balogna and fried egg sandwich.
  7. Scrambled eggs and ketchup sandwich.
  8. I have a cousin that puts ketchup on everything! Green beans, mac-n-cheese, corn ...you name it, ketchup's on it! YUKE!!!

At my home, we have a rule. The words GROSS, YUKE, NASTY, etc cannot be used at the dinner table. It has grown my daughter into tasting everything on her plate. She loves spinach, turnip greens, asparagus, olives ...everything we adults cook. It is awesome!

They say as a person gets older and matures, so do their taste buds. What was once their favorite, could be what they dislike later in life. I find that interesting. I guess that's why I love punnanne pie more and more
