1. USC beats Oklahoma and Auburn beats Va Tech?

Would there be a split NC? After all the bitchin' USC did last year, they couldn't possibly try and deny Auburn from at least a share of it.

But for some reason, I bet USC would still be crowned as THE National Champion.
  2. I think it will take a close OU win over USC and Auburn in an absolute romp for Auburn to have any chance at a split title.
  3. Auburn will not blow out VT. VT has a very good defense as does Auburn. I don't see a whole lot of scoring in this game...under 35 combined I'm thinking.
  4. The media loves controversy, so it would be interesting to see what the AP voters do should their beloved Trojans lose and Auburn rolls VT.

My guess is that OU would get the crown, but I wouldn't be surprised if the vote was very close.
  5. Even better. Since the coaches would have to give it to OU via BCS rules, let the writers (gag, cough, spit) vote AU no. 1.
  6. This is true, which would make a totally unexpected Auburn romp all the more impressive.

If USC wins---unlikely, we know---in a close one and AU romps....

It sucks, but a big win is Auburn's only hope at this point.
  7. USC was ranked #1 prior to the final BCS poll and that's the difference in the two scenarios. There's no reason for the AP voters to move them down as long as they win.
  8. USC could win by 1 and AU win by 1000 and USC would still be the undisputed media national champions.
  9. Just like there was no reason to move Cal down when they won right?
