That's true. I didn't realize we managed to get 130 catches last season. For all the inconsistency we had at QB, that's pretty amazing.

We face some pretty good defenses this year - Alabama & Auburn specifically, but I think that with this kind of balanced attack no defense in the country can handle all of our weapons.

From what I understand from Jimbo is that we will attack the other teams weakness, and each week this will change. If a team has a hard time defending the pass but are ok at stopping the run the offense will attack more in the air......I know sounds simple but we may see games where the pass or run gets more than its 50%, depends on the teams we play and what
    they will be best at.

AKA, our receivers are going to have one hell of a day against Tennessee.

I think those totals are fine that you have listed JV25. First off, our ineptness at throwing the ball last season cost us a bunch of plays by forcing us to punt after missing on 3rd down passes or getting safrom holding onto the ball too long. In 2003 we ran 994 plays because we were able to sustain drives(I guess we can add the defense getting the ball back quickly to that). In 2004 we ran 825 plays and completes one 56% of our passes. Just keeping the same amount of pass plays we would have seen our overall completions rise to almost 200.

I would have to think they we should throw the ball around 350 times this upcoming season. If we can complete at least 60%, a decent percentage in this day and age, that would be 210 completions. Since we do not throw to the backs or TE's an overwhelming amount and we have so much talent at WR, that should mean that these guys are catching a lot of balls.

JR completed 56% of his passes last year, so I don't think 60% is much of a stretch if he is the QB.

Yep Cajdav1, I see you've been looking at the numbers as well. We ran the ball about 42 times versus 27 passes per game last year. That's far from being a balanced offense.

Our biggest problem on offense might be deciding who gets the football each play. :hihi:
