Two basketball magazines have LSU ranked withint the top 15 teams. Athlon Sports tabbed the Lady Tigers ninth in the nation behind No. 1 North Carolina, Maryland, Oklahoma, Stanford, Ohio State, Duke, Tennessee and Georgia. Lindy's ranked LSU 12th behind No. 1 Maryland, North Carolina, Stanford, UConn, Tenenssee, Oklahoma, Duke, Georgia, Rutgers, Ohio State and Purdue.
