1. Sounds like he was having grade issues last year, but REALL stepped up his Jr. year and put himself in good position to become eligible. :thumb:

Benton (6-3, 195, 4.4) out of Bastrop. Nice size AND speed for a WR!

He had been recruited by teams like FSU and Miami, but not official offers because teams weren't sure he would make the grades--but that appears to be something he's now capable of doing...which is good because we need some WR's in this class, too.

With Gabriel Bryant (6-2, 190, 4.4) and now Benton, we're looking VERY good at the WR corps for '07.

Imagine a WR group that features:

    Gabriel Bryant from Jonesboro (6-2, 190, 4.4)
    DeAngelo Benton from Bastrop(6-3, 195, 4.4)...AND...
    Ahmad Paige from Sterling (6-2, 174, 4.39)

    ...WOW!!!.. :thumb:
  2. Awesome news!
  3. We are definitely in the running for Terrance Toliver also. Potentially some very nice WR's in this class. It appears Gabriel Bryant may also be going to Bastrop.
  4. yes but can he pitch?
  5. No but I heard that he can play the accordian.
  6. Here's an article about his commitment,

    His coach says,
Sounds like we got a real good one.
  7. awesome. who else are our big targets now? joe mcknight, arrellious benn, terrance tolliver?
  8. mcknight as rb and athlete, tolliver, the wr out of new roads for sure as far wr or potential wrs go.

  9. I was going to say don't forget about Toddrick Bajoie from New Roads. I know Miles told McKnight that he would be an RB but does anyone know if would be used like R Bush wideout sometimes as well and maybe punt returns?
  10. I believe both us & USC are telling him we'd like to utilize him similar to Reggie Bush.
