The QB thread was an attempt to get all the guys we're recruiting at the position in one thread, as an easy & complete guide. This will be the same, but with WRs.

Chris Tolliver - (6'1", 185lbs, 4.5 forty). The best WR in La last year as a Jr. He'll be a Tiger and a great addition.

Melvin Ray - (6'3", 202lbs, 4.55 forty). A 4 star on Scout, has us in his top 3. Big receiver, good route running & athleticism. Scout says he struggles with beating jams.

Julio Jones - (6'4", 210lbs, 4.5 forty). Big, physical receiver, 2nd best in the country. Great at going up to get the ball. Likes LSU, favors Bama.

DeAndre Brown - (6'6.5", 220lbs, 4.5 forty). Very, very big, and a good athlete. Underutilized in HS. May end up being a TE. Favors LSU.

Josh Jarboe - (6'3", 195lbs, 4.45 forty). Big, but not quite as big as the other receivers. Faster than other recruits, could improve route running. Likes LSU, with a host of other offers.

Carl Moore - (6'4", 220lbs, 4.45 forty). Best Juco WR in the country. We've offered, may heavily pursue if yound WRs don't step up this year.

Aldarius Johnson - (6'2.5", 195lbs, 4.54 forty). Great WR out of Florida. We've offered, but I don't see him leaving the state.

T.J. Lawrence - (6'1", 195lbs, 4.6 forty). WR, could also be a DB. Great athlete. Has LSU in his top 4.

Deion Walker - (6'3", 185lbs, 4.45 forty). Good WR with a lot of offers. LSU's on his radar, but he's from Virginia, so it's probably a long shot.

Mark Barron - (6'2", 210lbs, 4.5 forty). Good WR out of Mobile with an LSU offer. I expect this is a prospect we may hear more about further down the line.

Joseph Adams - (6'1", 175lbs, 4.4 forty). Pretty good Arkansas receiver, probably won't get an LSU offer unless we miss out on Tolliver.

Tim Molton - (6'2.5", 175lbs, 4.55 forty). LSU hasn't offered, but he favors us. Good receiver, but not spectacular. Doesn't look like he'll be offered.

Laron Byrd - (6'4", 210lbs, 4.49 forty). 4 star WR, Rivals 250 to watch. Could be a DB or WR. No LSU offer yet.

Jhyryn Taylor - (6'0", 176lbs, 4.59 forty). LSU Commit, could be a DB as well. Good athlete, great route running/ability to get open.

Moore better than Corey Surrency out of ECJC? He's committed to Colorado but I guarantee that's not a solid commit and he's originally from SEC country (Fla). I've seen this kid work out.........he's flat out amazing. Grades could be an issue.

How about Brice Butler? He holds a Tiger offer. Are you seeing him as a corner prospect?

Its pretty close between these 2 guys, but I haven't seen much of either so I'm not sure. He does have an LSU offer, but I didn't list him because he's a Colorado commit. It's the same thing as with the other JUCO guy, I don't see us heavily recruiting him unless our WRs struggle this year.

Yea, I figured he'd be a CB because his hands aren't very good. I think we're recruiting him as an athlete. He wants to commit early, and I doubt it will be to us.

I'm going to their spring game tomorrow.

The great thing about Barron is he could be a top RB, S, WR, or OLB in college. I love his versatility.

Right now he seems to be down to LSU and Bama. Most Bama fans thought he might go here but then one of his best friends committed to Bama. Plenty of time to change his mind, though.

He may stay a Buff. This comment:

“My mom kept drilling into my head that they were the first to offer and that meant a lot,” said Surrency. “So I gave them a call and said I was ready to be a Buffalo.”

along with his grade situation are what may have led to a quick committment. I think a few of the Fla schools will keep after him.

Another great WR group coming in for LSU either way.

I don't think we're recruiting him as one, but it may be in the back of the coaches' mind. IMO, he'd only be switched to TE if he keeps growing.

the last I read about Ray is that he has Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Maryland and Ole Miss as his top schools. Him living in Tallahassee doesn't help matters. Apparently he was a frequent visitor to FSU practices.

I don't think LSU has offered yet.

he looks like he's a Buckeye lean. His list of favorits currently stands at Ohio State, LSU, Florida, Georgia, I still like Georgia Tech, and Auburn. He also says that he has already planned 3 official visits, OSU, UF and LSU.

I think you're right, he's either a Cane or a Gator.

I haven't seen where LSU has offered yet and as of right now he's a big VT lean.

as mentioned before he's an FSU fan and he and EJ could be a package deal

and he feeling real good about USC at the moment. He stated that if they offer he'll visit and if he likes the visit he'll commit right on the spot.

There is a lot of debate between he and A.J. Green, a Georgia commit.

Both have to be two of the top receivers to come out of high school in a number of years.
