Congratulations. You've figured out all by yourself that we are biased fans. And LSU is the only place like that on earth. Fans from other schools are all completely pragmatic and fair.

As I stated, according to the original news article that broke the story, there were multiple bags found in his car - more than sufficient to charge him with Possession with Intent. I am sure the effects a conviction would have had on his promising football career, and the efforts of his attorney, were the key reasons why the charges were dropped.

I've been hearing the charges were dropped in the press, but I've also been hearing from a friend who is a LA. DA that the charges were reduced. I guess we will see, there seems to be alot of facts not released yet. In any event, whether they went away or not, they shouldn't have been filed as Felony charges in the first place.

I know that the large amount of cash he had was a huge reason for the felony, but it has been proven by the financial advisor who loaned him the money that it was legit, and not drug money.

I think the multiple bag rumor was confusion over his multiple sacks over the season. <snare hit for corny joke>

You're right. I was wrong. I thought he had over an ounce based on the number of bags. Usually intent is based on the amount of marijuana found. I forget the amount required to charge someone with a felony, but it is over an ounce. I have not heard of anyone being charged with Possession with Intent based on how the marijuana is packaged, although that would make a certain amount of sense. Usually if you have the marjiuana for your own personal use, you don't break it up into separate "nickel" and "dime" packages.

My theory is that he had two different types of weed, and didn't want to mix them. Either that, or he had an old bag that was wearing thin, picked up a new sack to resupply his stash, and just had both at the time he was pulled over.

Hard to tell....NFL teams are hard to judge sometimes. Even though charges were dropped, he STILL got pulled over with an illegal substance and was still unable to play in the Sr. bowl....he'll stock will drop--but I think he makes a slight improvement from where he would have been should the charges not been dropped.
