Poor FT shooting is kinda like a QB who throws INT's when the game is on the line in that when it comes down to it, no matter what drills a coach runs you through in practice, it's the player that has to execute it and apply it to the game.

I'm more upset with Mitchell's last shot--which looked forced to me (but some of you that were able to see it on TV and watch a replay of it might have gotten a better look at how much time was actually left on the clock when he shot). Seems as though he rushed it and I don't know how accurate the statement was (in terms of clock time left) but the UConn fan sitting in front of me was SCREAMING MAD when we brought the ball down because he said we had a clear drive to the basket.... Like I said, I couldn't see a replay, but it seems to have made sense considering all we needed as 2-points to win and an off-balanced 3-point attempt wasn't advised.

Seems to be at the start of UConn's 2 free throws with 7 seconds left, Brady should have informed everyone what to do in the event that they (UConn) made both, or missed both....

This LSU team has played tough opponents on the roadand has been competitive. They have lost 5 games by a total of 11 points. LSU is solid inside and needs guard play to improve along with free-throws. If Minor and Bass were here this season, LSU might be in the top-5, But they are not here, so LSU must work hard for everything and will lose more close games this year.

Still, if Brady can coax some better performances from his guards, LSU could do well at tournament time.

I agree about Brady. LSU has never been able to get beyond mediocrity because of his inability to recruit effectively. But he keeps winning just enough games to save his job. How long will this satisfaction with mediocrity go on?

I think it's wrong to say he hasn't recruited well. We've had some talented guys come through this program since he has been here. I think his problem in recruiting is his inability to recruit a solid point guard. That's been a real sore spot since he's been here.
