On one hand, the initial reaction is 'WTF', but then again, he's the only Saints QB not names Drew Brees to win a playoff game.

Memo to the Hall...if there are no worthwhile candidates, just don't select anyone.

I don't know, I think Aaron Brooks gets a bad rap because of his demeanor (smiling) whenever he had a turnover, but he's 3rd all time in franchise history in TDs and passing yards and he is the first QB in Saints history to ever win a playoff game. I think Haslett is to blame for a lot of Brooks' issue because dude was playing with a torn rotator cuff in 2oo2 or '03, so of course his passes are going to be intercepted. Still, we had Jake Delomme as his backup and you'll always play the 'What If' game when thinking of the two.

theres no what-if to play. brooks was a dog and his attitude exemplified it in spades. was he talented, yes. was he dumb as a brick, yes. not a position for this type of athlete. aaron brooks can suck it.

You are correct Sir! Brooks never really improved from his first season at the helm. In fact that was probably his best games. They basically gave him one read on a pass play. If the receiver wasn't open he tucked it and ran. That was when he was at his best because he could not read a defense if his life depended on it. He only knew one receiver--Joe Horn. Three people could be hanging on Joe, but Brooks was throwing it his way on 3rd down. The Saints may have won their first playoff game in spite of Brooks. It is a team game after all. What really tells you all you need to know is what did Brooks do after he left the Saints. He was still in his prime years, but failed in spades. By the age of 30 he was out of the NFL. Conversely, Drew Brees was winning a Super Bowl for us when he was around that age. Brees is currently 35 and setting league records. The fact that Brooks is in our hall of fame is a little embarrassing and is a testament to how long our fans suffered through many lean years.

Not here to defend Brooks, but its funny that you put those two sentences back to back, considering Horn got hurt on the opening drive of that playoff game and didn't play again. Brooks ended up throwing 4 TD passes to the other guys. Brooks had his positives, but they were greatly outweighed by the negatives, and he definitely doesn't belong in the team Hall of Fame.
