And trust me, the media was running with that to the bank that McCarron all of a sudden was this great college football player because of one singular play. And the Heisman voters would have gladly chosen someone else over the risky play of Famous Jameis who could turn into Famous Felon in the next couple of weeks. The loss by Bama was epic in every which way imaginable.
The Heisman committee had no problem awarding it to a laptop thief who was probably getting a signing bonus while still at Auburn. Now they're worried about credibility?
Going into the Iron Bowl, Bama fans already had already won the SEC Championship in their minds (I asked a Bama fan in my office who would go out of the East...SC or Mizzzou... and he said 'it don't matter, we'll murder either one of them') . Many were already chalking up another BCSNC trophy. Most thought McCarron was the front runner for the Heisman. I am telling you this from experience. I work with quite a few Alabama season ticket holders. The ones that I know all felt this way and all talked shit. Then, just like that, in the blink of an eye.....it all came crashing down. War. Damn. Eagle.
And it's a good damn thing. The Heisman should never go to a "game manager". Give it to the RB from BC who has a million yards. It doesn't always have to be the "sexiest" pic.
I still hate AU from the Tuberville days, but I hate Alabama worse. Still, I say GEAUX (Missouri, not AU) Tigers this weekend!
I agree. We're just saluting Auburn for doing what needed to be done. Now we don't have a need for them and they can go ahead and lose to Missouri.
Fully agree about Mizzou. We should not pull for a team from our division to win a national or conference championship due to recruiting competition. Besides, they're still Auburn. Things are setting up nicely for Mizzou to win. No one is talking about them, and Auburn has to be drained from the TWO back-to-back miracles. That luck's gotta end sometime.
