Also watch Lorenzo Carter. He would be my last minute surprise candidate if I had to pick one for this class.
My surprise is Malik McDowell. Gonna be tough stealing him from Michigan, but we have pulled kids from Michigan before. Carter most likely a Georgia/Florida battle with the obligatory Alabama being in the running. Too much ground to gain this late in the process. Funny how Georgia has a really difficult time keeping people out from getting their top recruits. We did get an official visit from this kid scheduled, so give it up to Brick to get that far. Breeland Speaks is possibly the other surprise of the class, currently an Ole Miss commit.
Malik is another good surprise pick. As for Carter, LSU has made more headway than being reported. Still going to be tough but be on the lookout for more LSU talk.
I wonder if Georgia Bulldog fans meltdown with potentially losing a top flight in-state recruit like Carter. I would assume so.
I believe the avid and smart UGA fans won't have any sort of meltdown although they would be disappointed. Georgia produces so much incredible talent each year and has so many schools close to their border they lose a bunch of top guys every year. There is simply no way they can retain all of them and when you have FSU, Bama, Auburn, Clemson, Ut and USCW only minutes from the state line you are going to have a lot of pilfering. Heck Bama pulled like 3 of the top 4 players in Georgia a couple of years ago, Auburn & Clemson took a couple of the top players and even Ole Miss got one but UGA still had a great class. It is the way it is in Georgia. When they first coined the recruiting term Border Wars they had to have Georgia on their mind.
LSU should be ranked 2nd or possibly 1st in the recruiting rankings following the announcements in the UA game.
This looks to be one of LSU's best signing classes, potentially. Lots of skill position studs. Would love for LSU to pull a stud DT and 1 more OL.
On paper, if we get all the players now predicted to sign with LSU, then it would be the best class ever.
