Crowley RB who LSU likes at WR had a great time with his family at the junior day this weekend. Currently holds offers from Tenn and Arky and will likely get one from LSU at the Feb Junior day. 6'2 200 4.52 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDsNMCRpFAE]YouTube - DAVANTE' BOURQUE RB #5 CROWLEY GENTS FOOTBALL 2010[/ame]
Bhlem I've seen this kid play quite a bit ..very good athlete plays running back in highschool, only drawback here might be his grades and character.
Bourque is a good kid. So many rumors about this young man. Was lazy in the classroom and his dad got custody of him and turned things around. Transfered from class 1A Gueydan and enrolled at class 3A CROWLEY HIGH.2008 ALL STATE RETURN SPECIALIST AS A FRESHMAN CLASS 1A, 2009 ALL STATE AS A SOPHOMORE CLASS 1A MVP RUSHED FOR 1,779 YARDS AND 36 TD'S, ALSO NAMED MAX PREPS ALL AMERICAN SOPHOMORE TEAM.. 2010 CLASS 3A LEADING RUSHER 2,326 YARDS AND SCORED 40 TOUCHDOWNS.. CLASS 3A ALL STATE TEAM (ATH)
I know what he is....I've watched him play, I also know that he tried to go to Notre Dame. The sources that tell me this are pretty good ones. However I hope is is straitning up, I wish the kid nothing but success.
I'M HIS UNCLE AND THERE IS NO BETTER SOURCE THAN THE FAMILY. HE DIDN'T TRY AND GO TO NOTRE DAME HIS PARENTS FELT THAT CROWLEY HIGH WAS A BETTER FIT FOR HIM. HIS DAD AND NOTRE DAME COACH LEWIS COOK ARE BEST OF FRIENDS. I'M NOT ON HERE TO ARGUE WITH ANYONE JUST TIRED OF THE FALSE RUMORS ABOUT MY NEPHEW. HE WAS A VERY LAZY KID IN SCHOOL AND HIS DAD DONE THE RIGHT THING, GOT CUSTODY OF HIS SON AND NOW DAVANTE' LIVES WITH HIM. HIS SCHOOL WORK IS MUCH BETTER AND THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE WILL FALL INTO PLACE AS LONG AS THE EDUCATION PART IS TAKEN CARE OF.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you stick around to give us tidbits here and there. BTW, I am friends with the Cook family. Class acts...
My nephew played at Crowley High with Devante and I saw them play a number of times. He has all the physical tools to be a special player at the next level. If there is any knock on him it's that he will take a play or two off, which isn't uncommon for a good young back. If Devante stays healthy and makes his grades, scores he'll have a hard decision to make next February.
I think people don't really know how hard it is to concentrate on school and athletics when your parents are splitting up. I know I don't. My parents are in their 80s and are still married. I can't even imagine what life would be like under that kind of stress. Good luck Devonte and hang in there dad !! :thumb:
