Top of the 8th and Ark just tied the game at 7/7. Bottom of 8th just starting and both teams are on their third pitcher.
Certainly LSU at this point should have earned a regional, correct? I would assume even with a tournament championship, LSU will not be getting a super regional national bid? Baseball America has us at 14 (wtf) and ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll has us as 8th ranked. This dude has us 17th in his ranking of the ones to get a regional bid, but says we can easily play our way into the top 16 with a win or 2 in the tourney (which we have already accomplished). http://espn.go.com/college-sports/s...conference-tournaments-opportunity-impression Baseball rankings really mean nothing as LSU is the highest of the ranked SEC teams in the Coaches poll. I don't get how Florida can even be considered as a national seed with 10 OOC losses, to the likes of FAU (twice), Illinois (twice), Florida Gulf Coast, Maryland, Jacksonville, and Florida A&M. I wasn't aware that most of those teams even had a baseball program. Whatever happend to the "bad losses" attribute of determining seeds?
LSU has moved way up in the pecking order so far due to our success and a host of losses by teams that aren't in the chase. But it still doesn't look real good for us getting one of the 8 national seeds. Of course the committee does have a few surprises every year.
