    I was there

All the Tenn fans were giving us hell in all the resturants the night before the game. Then after the game they watched me in the street dancing and having a great time. Reminded me of the Peach Bowl the year before all the GT fans raging us in the Bathrooms asking where are the Tigers. Well they showed up just a little late both years.

I was passing through knoxville last year going to Blacksburg and I stopped at McDonalds the Tenn fans were going to Nashville that day to play Wyoming I think and they came out of the Resturant and saw my car in all its Purple and Gold and i was right behind them. All I could say was " Hey Guys its kind of like reliving a NIGHTMARE". Man it felt good to rub it in.

I went and had one of the best times of my life!!! Unfortunetly I cannot give you any hardcore details, because i went with a friend of mine named "JACK". Everytime JACK and I get together I don't remember much from the previous day. I don't know what it is about that guy, but we always have a goodtime.

But the little details I do remember are some of the greatest memories I have of LSU football. The atmosphere was awesome, the look on the wanna-be National Champion Tennessee Vols was awesome, & everything about the game was awesome. I have never been so pumped after a game, the feeling of upsetting the Vols was unbelievable.

At the conclusion of the game, JACK and I proceeded to fall down the stairs in the Georgia Dome in excitement. It was great!!!!

Yeah, so it's like the next day, "Sunday Morning" and we were headed back west on I-20. We stopped at a convienence store a couple of hours out of Atlanta and there was a Tahoe full of Tennessee fans that happened to pull in. Well, Well, huh......

All they could say was that they had Never heard opposite fans that cheered as loud as LSU's and that they had never heard a band play as loud as the LSU's..... They were shocked.

One guy said "yeah, I mean, ya'll just came back and whipped our ass!"

    Geaux Tigers.................

I wanna go back just to see someone hold up that sign

    "POUR SOME SUGAR ON LSU"

    ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh yeah........

i wuz there. I got tiks at the last minute and headed up to the ATL with my 13 year old son.

At SEC fan fair, all over the grounds surrounding the GA dome, all I saw was orange.

I remember the UT fans walking in with their signs - all bearing slogans that cleverly worked in Rose Bowl, CBS, BCS, etc. I saw several orange roses.

I remember how smarmy they were, how completely assured of victory. This was just a brief rest stop on the way to Pasadena.

What made it even better for me was that I went to the UT/LSU game in Knoxville earlier that year. I was with a group of guys and we were harrassed unmercifully - no big deal, but payback's a bitch.

Leaving the stadium, it was like leaving a funeral, but instead of black, everyone wore highway worker orange. I was in the middle of a sea of tenn fans walking to a MARTA station - utter silence. No other LSU fans around. I yelled out - why's everyone so quiet??? Then with the LSU, LSU, LSU cheer - some other LSU fans found me, heard me, and the tenn fans present were given the appropriate amount of hell.

I loved it. Plenty of music, much beer, uncountable high fives to complete strangers - that was a truly great LSU win. Then on to the sugar bowl - which was just a total ass-whipping. The best run by an LSU team that I was around to witness. I hope to see it again soon.

I know what you mean. It was like being thrown into a horror movie and everybody & I mean everybody had a orange vol shirt on. But uh......... Every now and then I'd come across someone with a purple, white or gold shirt. I was like, yeah you UT fans are all walking around like a chickens with there heads cut off. Just wait, see.......all the LSU fans are just getting drunk in the bars and tailgates. They'll be here in a minute. Then I realized when it was game time that I had already seen all the LSU fans there. Ha Ha

Yeah, I remember all the silence from UT Fans. It was definetly like someone had passed away. I thought about how they all had to leave ATL for a depressing ride home. But.......... Then I thought about all the LSU Fans probably 20,000 that were driving home with a smile.

    On a more somber note...

I'd like to tell you guys about my night of the SEC Championship game. It may help add to your appreciation for witnessing one of the most satisfying LSU wins of all time. I've told this story at least once before on this board but this will definitely be the last time.

It all started when my dad suggested that we visit my grandmother for her birthday in Tyler, TX. The plan was to spend the day with her and watch the game at her house that night. As we gathered around the TV, relaxed and content after a hearty dinner, the local affiliate decided to pick up Michael Jordan and the Wizards playing at Dallas. Panic mode instantly set in. We realized there was a second CBS? station but it was airing a re-run of Unsolved Mysteries. We then jumped in the car with phone book in hand and set out for a place that was carrying the game. Chili's? No. How about a local sports bar with a satellite that gets the NFL package? Strike 2. Another sports bar that everyone in town recommended because of satellite capabilities? No. After numerous phone calls and an unsuccessful trip to Circuit City, we finally gave up (about the time Saban went for the 4th down on our own 20).

As we headed back, we were a little dazed and confused. There wasn't a single location in Tyler that carried the NATIONALLY TELEVISED SEC CHAMPIONSHIP game. Luckily, we could pick up the 870 am feed and listened to Hawthorne for the rest of the game (in the car). The LSU win eased the pain a good bit and having our backups come in and save the day added to the satisfaction.

I've seen many great games in Tiger Stadium so I think I'll survive, just might be a little scarred for life.

I was there. One of the greatest atmospheres ever. Before, during, and after the game.

My absolute favorite part was when we had first and goal late in the game and Tenn. called timeout after every play. The TV kept cutting away, so I don't know if it was on, but the LSU band played pregame at every timeout. It was incredible. There were a few Tenn. fans mixed in with us and there was one guy literally in tears when we scored the last touchdown. It was worth having to listen to Rocky Top 100 times in the first half to see the looks on the Vols fans faces after the game.
