Keiland Williams is my personal favorite pick up, because I felt a big time running back (or 3) was necessary and could make an immediate impact.

I like Levingston's potential a whole lot! He was also a HUGE pickup considering he is our only DE signing this year...he also looks to be quite versitale in that he appears to have the frame to play either end or tackle--depending on what training routine the coaching staff decides to put him on (personally, I would like to see him remain at end and be a Marquise Hill-type--300 plus pound DE).

I know Levingston is a good friend of yours, so don't be too surprised, offended if the majority of the people on this board state Keiland Williams or some of the higher-ranked recruits like Al Woods, Deas or even Jai Eugene.

I like all of our recruits...but that's just a cheep way out of answering your question isn't it? :hihi:

So, in an attempt to answer your question, the best I can do is list my favorites at EACH position.

    (in no particular order)

CB--Jason Teague --I'm excited about Jai and I think he'll be great, but there's a LOT to say about Teague--a guy that even when it looked like we would land BOTH Cox and Eugene and end up with two of the top 12 corners, Teague never waivered. That's grit, man!

SAFETY--Troy Giddens -- I know he's listed as an ATH, but I just don't see him playing OLB for us. Giddens wants to run track, and I just feel that the weight that a good OLB needs is just a little too much for a track sprinter to overcome to be effective on the track. Plus, he's a big hitter! Clemons still needs work in the classroom to be a "sure thing qualifier". Giddens' speed is what gives him the nod over McCray, IMO

ILB -- Jacob Cutrera -- He has the body style that we need for a solid "MIKE" linebacker. The fact that he was such an early commitment AND is already enrolled at LSU this semester gives him the nod in my mind over Kevin Sheppard. Cutrera will have the edge over Sheppard because Jacob will have taken part in Spring practice.

OLB -- Derrick Odom -- Let's see...he's built like a brick sh*thouse...he runs a 4.5-forty and he looks mean as a rattle snake.

WR -- Jared Mitchell -- top-notch WR (so were Chris Mitchell and Dixon) but he chose LSU over the MLB draft and he might also help us out on the baseball field. He's my best recruit because he could help us in two popular sports!

RB -- (tie) Keiland, Scott and Murphy -- I'm excited about Keiland for his pure abilities--looks to be the total package. I'm excited for Charles Scott because he's such a great student and because he gives us another "power runner" to go along with AB and KW. I'm excited for Richard Murphy because he compliments Williams and Scott in that he's a "slasher" and gives us a great "change of pace" back. Those 3 will compliment one another very well for years to come.

DE -- Levingston -- for reasons mentioned above

DT --Charlie Deas -- I know 9 out of 10 people will say Woods--and that's true...but Deas allows Woods' commitment to be even THAT much more exciting because Woods was pretty much LSU all the way, all along but it was because of Deas' commitment that makes it possible for LSU to continue it's defensive "Tackle Tandem Dominance" for years to come.

OL -- (tie) Loadholt, Thomas, Allen -- Thomas and Loadholt will likely be the first two O-linemen to get serious playing time this season and we need them to play well for us. Allen, IMO, is such an impossing blocker--dude's mean (but not a dirty player). All of Matt Allen's highlight tapes show him staying after his assignment (player) and blocking him into the ground--not just to the ground and he stays with his blocks.

    So...that's my list...

Woods and Deas are going to get into the starting defensive tackle business early, I think.

Derrick Odom may have to redshirt to put on some weight. But eventually this guy will be awesome. To put it nicely, when it comes to his athletic ability - he is "freakish".

After seeing the pics of Deas in his Sunday best on signing day, he's easily my favorite.

I don't think he will either. I do think in the long run it would have helped him to redshirt, but we may not have that opprotunity.
