Please forgive me if anything about this has been posted because I did look around but I didn't see anything on this subject.

What exactly does this mean for the university and then the fan.
Will LSU be able to get their "own network" like some of the professional teams are now doing?

I think this could be the future of sports all together and I think I would welcome it as long as it isn't too expensive but it would be nice to see more
LSU athletics on that channel if I wanted to see it versus teams I don't want
    to see.

Speaking of this, I heard ESPN is suppose to be coming out with some kind of
    new channel a while back?
Something about all college all of the time in the future.
    Any news on this?

My understanding is that it will improve internet media services for starters and also should allow for most/all LSU games to be televised more easily.

It also makes more money for LSU I believe - 1.5 million more per year. LSU, in the past, has funded all their own media events and such like radio programs etc and contracted for commercials themselves as well. Viacom will now take care of that for LSU. Also, Viacom will be in charge of advertisements on the big screens during games.

Does this mean 98.1 will no longer be the offical station?

Viacom's parent company is CBS, which also holds TV rights to SEC football...I wonder if that had anything to do with it?
