I have always respected a team that was really good without being obnoxious. Thought LSU was obnoxious. But it was my bad fortune to sit by some poor sports. When did I learn to REALLY respect Tiger football? Archie's senior year. The first half, it was a dadgum good game. The second half-------------if Ole Miss had the squirts, they would have been out of paper. Nothing went right. Manning was playing with a cast on his arm. The only "CHEAP" shots taken at him were from the fans. If LSU won, they were to go to the Orange bowl. Here came the oranges. I laughed at the people around us. Told them that I sure was glad they were not headed to the Gator bowl. All--and I do mean ALL of the LSU guys were A #1. NO cheap shots. They helped Manning up. They all but brushed off his jersey. As my date and I left the stadium, after a through butt whipping, a young LADY followed us screaming "ARCHIE WHO." Her Mom and Dad kept telling her to leave us alone, that we had not said a word to her. Her reply, "Hell No. I've waited years for this." We tried to ignore her. Finally I told her that if her butt worked half as good as her mouth, that she would never need a daytime job." Her Dad said, "You asked for that. Now come on."

You're an old man. I like that. I watched that game at the NCO Club at Altus AFB, Oklahoma.

the year before, I was in the army. Stationed at the Pentagon. Right where the plane was flown in. Life has been good to me in a lot of ways. My dad took one look at me and hauled ass. I guess he felt like why mess with perfection. Raised as an only child by my Mom. Got married. Four kids. Nine grandkids. No physical problems. The only mental problems are the LSU FANS. I think I can live with that. SEE YOU SAT.

I was one of the idiots that threw the oranges. I was 14 I believe, hard to remember that far back and count; anyway, we walked into the stadium and when they asked us what we were going to do with all of those Oranges and my friend pancked and said "make screwdrivers" and the ticket taker and security guard said, "oh, O.K., have a good time". ONLY IN LOUISIANA WOULD THAT HAVE HAPPENED.
