...who would you prefer LSU play in Atlanta on Dec. 8, 2001?

I think I would prefer Tennessee, although beating Florida would be very sweet they just looked awesome against Florida State. Tennessee has a good running game, but if we stuff Mr. Stevens and force Cluasen to pass on us with our ever improving secondary I think we can get the win this time. UT has good receivers, but with out the run support Clausen usually crumbles under the pressure.

Also, Rohan and Co. will have better success againts UT's defense as opposed to Florida. If Rohan and Josh get in the grove then we can eat up the clock, keep our defense fresh, and not let Clausen get into a rythm. We can go up early on UT and with Toe running late we can eliminate UT's strength which is the 4th quarter.

Florida is awesome all game, and I have to be honest I wouldn't like our chances in a rematch.

So this Tiger fan is cheering for the VOLS.

I understand the point of view of wanting to play Tennessee because I also believe we could, and would, match up favorably with the Vols on a neutral site. Florida still scares me a little because of how good a team they are and because they've already had their slip-up game against Auburn. It's way too early to assume that LSU will be in the SEC Championship game, but I don't play or coach so I'll do that now. Even if you figure that LSU beats Tennesse (this year) 7 out of 10 on a neutral site, which may be a bit optimistic; and you figure that Florida beats LSU 7 out of 10, I'd much rather play Florida if they have a chance of getting into the BCS Championship game. Nebraska or Miami may have to lose before then, but can you imagine how much it would piss Spurrier off to beat him under that setting? Then again (getting WAY ahead of myself), win the championship game and play Texas or Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. Why don't we talk about Arkansas now?

OK, I think we beat Arkansas, they have won six in a row and no way do they come into Baton Rouge and make it seven in a row. We match up well with Arkansas, although that Freshman QB can be an X-factor, I still think we win. Probably by 10 or so points.

We are well rested and well prepared for Arkansas. We had a week to prepare before the excitement of winning the SEC West came into play. Also, Arkansas's emotions are running too high for such a young team and that will be their down fall on Friday. They won't be able to keep their heads in the game, and LSU's execution will be amplified by Arkansas mistakes.

At least this is how I see it. :D

We have a better chance to beat Tennessee. We lost to them by 1 TD, and had a chance to tie it in the end. Not so close for Florida.

However, as long as we are putting our carts before our horses, it would be much sweeter to beat Visor Boy in front of the nation and maybe take them out of the BCSCG.

I want Florida. They are tougher and I really think that LSU can take them if they play like they have been. You don't get the 'elite' status until you beat 'elite' teams.

Seems the general consenus is to play Florida. With one game left against Auburn we just may get our chance to become part of the elite.

Tiger Stadium will be rocking Saturday night.
