Re: Why do we keep loosing recruits???

No matter what the recruits say or anyone in here...I can guarantee LSU's situation the past two years is the reason. Losing multiple coaches, the instability and the possibility of Miles getting booted after next year.

Nobody in here can say with a straight face these recruits are excited to play under Crowton after the past two years. And LSU has made absolutely no changes to rectify the problem. Might be best to do that and suck it up right now. Better to kick the entire staff rather than fire Crowton, than delay the inevitable and put LSU in more debt.

I personally was hoping they'd hire proven OC for next year and have at least a decent year. I simply do not want next year's class to fall apart. Next season's success is important to LSU's future and stability, regardless of who the coach is.

Not to be too negative here but I'm personally not optimistic at all about next year. We have the hardest schedule in the SEC and start off the season on the road against UNC. A 4-5 loss season wouldn't surprise me at this point.

Miles is a great recruiter. But lets be real, hes not a great gameday coach. He has to make great assistant hires to survive. Their has been many coaches like this that have been successful. It just so happens Miles has made some bad decisions past few years. As well as in recruiting. We have skill position players as good as anyone but our trenches are a major problem. LSU's main problems right now is because of their inability to recruit QBs and O-lineman to have enough time to develop. Attrition killed us. And it looks like it might happen to WRs next if we're not careful.

i just cant believe that one person would make us loose all of these recruits especially with the new hires we have....something has to be going on...it is really upsetting to me to see that this is happening..there should be something that when you give your word it means something but i guess that is nothing now a days.

Its not one guy. Its a combination of many things. Negative recruiting, distance, depth, coaching changes, Miles refusing to play his Freshman for a good amount, Crowton clueless on how to utilize his talent, Crowton's playcalling, lack of player development...

If your program is stable enough, you can overcome things like negative recruiting, distance and depth. Decommits happen to everyone. But right now I think everyone knows LSU is not stable...the media has been trying to spin it a little too. It will only get worse if we don't improve next year. If Miles is fired, almost 100% sure our class next year will fall apart. Especially when you consider he was fired due to instability...

Next year will be one of the most important seasons in recent memory for LSU.

Because LSU is teetering on the edge. This program is not elite anymore. We desperately need a top-10 finish and a signature win. It's going to take 2 seasons with top-10 finishes to get back to "elite" IMO.

Thankfully we have the talent to do it. But.. it has to be done soon or we'll be facing a stacked deck.

It isn't helping when LSU decides to schedule WVU and UNC on top of a already brutal SEC schedule while Alabama draws a permanent East opponent from a rebuilding Tenn team. We will not challenge Bama in the West until Tenn stabilizes and so does LSU. Good thing for us, they finally play Florida in the regular season this coming up year. But LSU definitely draws the harder schedule.

i understand where yall are coming from, but i guess what bothers me the most is that alot of other programs who dont have winning seasons and have had coaching changes more than what we have had and most of our coaching changes have been because they went onto better things and i look at how many people we put in the NFL year after year and how well they are doing, that must say something. I guess as a parent i would make my kid honor his committment and not go back on his word, but that's just me being a mom i guess.

I have been watching and been a faithful fan as long as I can remember and have been through all of the coaching changes and turmoils of the program and i have seen other programs, i.e. alabama go through crappy years and they still get the recruits that they want...it just gets me upset...

but even if we win 1 game or all of them, im a tiger fan to the end....

Re: Why do we keep loosing recruits???

One of the major problems for LSU right now, is the SEC too. Believe it or not. We're in the West, which right now, has a lot of rising teams while LSU is declining. The East is weak right now with mainly just Florida dominating it. Georgia usually challenges but they are weak too.

I don't think anyone in our side of the division finished with less than 4 losses in the regular season? MSU surprised people this year and almost beat us. Arkansas always plays us hard and we get Nutt'd every year.

LSU has to continue to recruit top 10 or even top 5 classes. We need Elite talent to compete. Florida has a absolutely RIDICULOUS class this year. Might even be better than ours next year(huge statement). The problem is LSU has to play the two best teams in the SEC every year and they're both top 5 teams in the country. They both recruit elite talent every year too. Then you have everyone on the rise in the West, except LSU. How many other teams play Bama/Florida in the SEC EVERY year?

You know these guys are being fed SEC Championship every year and when they're out of it midseason because Alabama plays a weak SEC schedule...you know it has to be demoralizing.

    Who did we lose?

Rivals has LSU at #6 and I have read from most here saying that LSU will finish in the top 10 this year. I dont really see an issue.

My guess is you are talking about Justin Hunter. If it is him, he hasn't commited to Tenn yet.

This happens from time to time.

I still think LSU will have a top 10 year.
