And here is early 2012 film and a breakdown of that film by Todd Huber, who specializes in the evaluation of offensive and defensive linemen for the Nike Football SPARQ Combines, Nike Football Training Camps and The Opening....

In the era of YouTube and Hudl highlights,
most of the tapes we see are filled with
yellow arrows to call out the stars of the
show. Garrett Brumfield didn’t need a
yellow arrow. The 6-3, 265 pound guard
prospect from University Lab (Baton Rouge,
La.) simply stood out. ... Brumfield is
clearly one of the more talented linemen in
    the Class of 2014.
    ...
    Brumfield is not
only a technician, but he’s also a great
athlete, as you’ll see at the 0:08 mark of the
tape, when he shows great footwork on a
skip pull and quickness in leading through
the hole and getting to the second level. At
the 0:20 mark Brumfield shows off an
incredibly quick first two steps. Getting the
first two steps into the ground quickly allows
Brumfield to have a solid base and be
squared up as he engages the defensive
lineman. In another rare feat for prep
linemen, Brumfield looks to be just as
effective in pass protection. Brumfield has a
quick set and shows good patience in
protection. While most linemen are in a hurry
to engage and will lunge at defenders, he
sits and waits until they are in range to punch
(0:42 mark in the highlights). While we
project him moving inside at the college
level, Brumfield shows good feet in
defending the speed rush and can settle in
against a bull rush. He is obviously naturally
gifted, but Brumfield shows what happens
when hard work meets good high school
    coaching.
Brumfield’s work on the field was rewarded
    with 2012 NOLA.com Baton Rouge All-Area
    and 2012 LSWA Class 2A All-State Honors.
Brumfield is very well-built and carries little
bad weight on his frame. As he matures and
gets into a college weight program,
Brumfield should have no trouble carrying
    290-300 pounds and maintaining his
    quickness.

Pretty good read on him and other recruits in attendance, per GeauxTigerNation .........

BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU's spring game is usually a big recruiting weekend, and the 2013 version did not disappoint.

LSU hosted some of the biggest names in the country, landed an ESPN 150 commitment and continued to lay the foundation for 2015 by extending an offer to one of Louisiana's top players.

Here's a rundown of the day's highlights, from a recruiting standpoint.

[IMG]Scott Fink for ESPN.comNew pledge Garrett Brumfield gives the Tigers another powerful interior line prospect in their Class of 2014.
A big bruiser: LSU picked up a big commitment from Garrett Brumfield, the No. 98 player in the ESPN 150.

The addition of Brumfield was huge on many levels for the Tigers. It allowed LSU to fill a need on the offensive line, giving the Tigers a second physical guard-type prospect to go with the already committedWilliam Clapp. Brumfield is also a home-grown talent, making his commitment carry a big impact locally.

Brumfield, whose Twitter handle is "thisisbruiser" also gives the Tigers their fifth ESPN 150 commitment out of nine total commitments. LSU is targeting 13 ESPN 150 prospects within a 200-mile radius of campus. So far, the Tigers have commitments from three -- Brumfield, safety Devin Voorhies and tight end Jacory Washington -- and none of the other 10 are committed. An LSU sweep of its most local prospects remains possibly, and the odds of the Tigers landing the lion's share of those big names is looking good.

Big names: Brumfield was a big commit for LSU, but he wasn't the biggest name there.

Leonard Fournette, the nation's No. 1 player, made the trip from New Orleans to visit LSU for a second straight weekend. That's refreshing news for LSU fans worried about how the Tigers stack up against rival Alabama for his services.

Fournette tweeted a picture with his mother outside Tiger Stadium, declaring that she had a good time on her visit.

He was one of two top 10 players in attendance, along with Myles Garrett, the highly-regarded defensive end from Arlington, Texas. Garrett is one of two relatively new players in the LSU recruiting scene to emerge from the weekend. ESPN 150 Linebacker Clifton Garrett had a long visit in Baton Rouge starting Friday night after spending Friday in Tuscaloosa, visiting Alabama.

Other big names making the trip were ESPN 150 wide receivers Malachi Dupre and Trey Quinn, who were there to see the public debut of Cam Cameron's offense. ESPN 150 safety John Bonney of Houston also attended, as did Houston area linebacker Josh Mabin.

Some that were no shows: The top prospects in North Louisiana were no shows, with two of the better prospects opting to attend Alabama's spring game instead. Offensive tackle Cameron Robinson and safety Hootie Jones both were in attendance in Tuscaloosa and wide receiverCameron Sims, who does not have an LSU offer, visited Oklahoma State.

A contingent from New Orleans' Karr High School, led by LSU committed linebacker Donnie Alexander, did not attend. There was strong speculation that Karr tight end Anthony Jones would be on "commit watch" if he did attend.

Working towards the future: LSU extended an offer to 2015 running back Derrius Guice, a speedster from local power Baton Rouge Catholic High, the same school that produced speedy running backs Warrick Dunn and Travis Minor.

Guice, who regularly runs 100-meter dashes between 10.5 and 10.8 seconds for the Bears' track team, certainly continues that tradition. He'll be one of two high-end 2015 running backs in Baton Rouge, along with Nick Brossette, who also already has an LSU offer.
