No 1 player in La. next year according to NOLA.com is Jerry Tillery, an OT, who is already committed to Notre Dame. No 5 is Garrett Thomas, another OT, who I've read is an Alabama lean. Cam Robinson this year you already know about.

Scott Long of DandyDon interview of Mike Detillier.

"LSU needs to look at bringing in someone to help develop their O-linemen with their pass blocking, maybe someone like Ben Wilkerson or Kevin Mawae. The O-line needs some development with pro style pass blocking techniques." - Mike Detillier

Anyone think we need someone with some serious O-Line credentials on the LSU staff and I'm thinking Kevin Mawae. He lives in BR and is an outstanding individual.

Going through nola.com's Fan 40, 2015 just doesn't look like a good year for o'linemen in LA. Don't see how we'll turn Tillery, but they're going to have to make Thomas a priority, and hopefully pull a couple of big bodies out of Texas or Florida.

Assuming both Colllins and Turner go pro, here's my early line on the 2-deep for the 2015 o'line:

LT - 1. Jerald Hawkins, 2. Evan Washington
LG - 1. Vadal Alexander, 2. Jonah Austin
    C - 1. Elliott Porter, 2. Ethan Pocic
RG - 1. Fehoko Fanaika, 2. Andy Dodd
RT - 1. Evan Washington, 2. Derek Edinburg

This is not a bad group, but o'line will have to be a top priority in the next recruiting class.

    Some possibilities for out-of-staters:
Tyler Carr, 6'5, 310, Southside, AL, Rivals 4-star #3 tackle, has LSU on his list, no offer
Sterling Jenkins, 6'8, 296 Pittsburgh (Baldwin HS), PA, 4-star, #4 tackle, lists LSU, no offer
Drew Richmond, 6'6, 313, Memphis (University HS), TN, 4-star, #5 tackle, has offer from LSU
Jake Fruhmorgen, 6'5, 256 (Tampa (Plant HS), FL, 4-star, #8 tackle, LSU not listed, but Rivals posts a video that says he would like an LSU offer

I didn't make my point clear enough. Mike Detillier's statement is really my point. I'll make it plainer. Our O- Line can't pass block for shit!
We need someone who can develop the O-Lineman we have. Just making O-Lineman a priority won't work. Cam Robinson was a priority this year. Didn't help. He went to Alabama where he thought he would be better prepared for the next level. We need someone
who can develop a reputation and the credibility for preparing players for the Pros, because that's what they all want. Make them want to come to LSU rather than having to talk them into it.

Stud sucks and should be fired is the bottom line.

Get someone in here who really knows how to coach them up and then you'll start to get these recruits to come here.

It's the 1 of 2 positions the Tigers have not done well with is O-linemen and LBs in recruiting. Not to say we haven't gotten good ones, but the ultra elite never come to LSU (Clifton Garrett is the very first I can remember).

I tend to agree. Stud has been underperforming and his return to being only the O line coach this year did not show enough improvement to warrant keeping him. I would expect Les to give him either another year or a chance to find another job rather than fire him.

I thought I read/heard grumblings that CCC felt the same way about Stud as being described here, and was planning on a position change in the off-season. I am hoping we here about something like that between now and Spring ball.

I just realized both our coordinators go by CCC.

    Cam Cameron, Chief Chavis.

If this is Garrett Thomas from Many, La., bhelm posted the other day that he's strong to LSU. Haven't seen anything at all saying he's a lean to Bama.
