Mommy! Daddy! Somebody is saying something negative! I don't think I want to go to school over there because that bad poster said something. Can we find a school with just love and understanding since I am a big boy now? Can you help me clean my participation trophies? IF a kid gets his panties in a bunch over posters and fans then screw that kid, he will get beat up for his milk money on a daily basis. This whole topic is pure shit. I would like to know from someone who visits other schools' boards it LSU fans are any quicker to turn on a player or are any more negative. I doubt it. My guess is that every school has negasomethings or sunshine pumpers just as LSU does, but, not being familiar with any other school's forums, this is just a guess based on the commonality of human nature.
Then let me be toxic. If I can't be critical of a disappointing performance from the team I love then what is the point? I ride out the good and the bad but no where did I agree not to be critical of what I see. And to be perfectly honest, I don't want some thin skinned pussy as you put it. If he/she can't handle what me or countless other people type on a message board how in god's name is he/she going to handle other players jawing on the field? I mean come on...
It happens everywhere not just LSU. We don't corner the market on it. Auburn was blowing up while Gene Sizzlechest was coach. Alabama has been in full melt down. Is Nick losing recruits because some trees got poisoned? How about because somebody got shot? Does it make sense that he is losing recruits because fans may be critical of that last game? Common sense people common sense.
The thin skinned pussies are not the recruits but the idiot fans who can't enjoy winning for any reason and would never make it as a pop warner coach much less make it up through the ranks of NCAA and NFL assistants to become a head coach of any college program anywhere (yet they know better).
Yes we should be able to coach football in order to be a fan. Sorry Herb for not being a coach, I should re evaluate my life now.
Constructive criticism is one thing, what passes for "criticism" on most boards is something else. "Miles is a moron and LSU will never win as long as he is the coach" is not helpful. Recruits keep hearing this from the fanbase and they want to play for the genius in Tuscaloosa who wins NCs rather than the idiot in Baton Rouge who can't win anything. Thin skin doesn't factor in. We even hear LSU fans say players go to Alabama because they want to be coached up for the next level. Fact is, LSU has had more players drafted in the last 10 years and more first rounders in that time than Alabama. So why do the negatigers keep saying that Miles can't get his players NFL ready. I'm not saying internet boards are the reason LA players choose Bama, maybe they just like the sound of a waterfall. But I do know that the constant drumbeat of Les is a moron who always underachieves and who will never win another NC is not drawing players to LSU.
