At least to students. Got an email today saying my priority point total will get me a free ticket paid for by TAF and student guest tickets for only $40 a pop. They must really be having problems getting fans to show up for this game.
No disrespect to Iowa, but that is simply a hard game to get excited about - particularly for a bowl game.
Okay then.... In other news I see where Nebraska has already had two charter flights cancelled due to slow sales. Last year I think they returned some 9,000 tickets. If Pelini was smart, and there is some evidence he struggles with the concept, he would buy up the 12,750 allotment... And give them to the elderly, who think Tom Osbourne is still coaching.,.
Iowa fans are looking more for a reason to get out of Iowa and go to Florida for New Years. Plus with our bad attendance this past year could lead to the same result. At least they wear gold too so it won't look that bad...
This game will most likey tell what what we can look for next season . yes we will lose a few players , but i think there is a gift waiting for us . We will not miss them as much as we think
It was my thought, when this bowl game was announced, it was a bad pairing considering the teams faced each other last season in the Cap One. I also read over the report of those Nebraska packages being canceled. The way I understood the story they were packaging together tickets, hotel, flight, etc. through a travel agency and out of those less than 50 had been sold. I've seen two teams mentioned that were selling tickets back to their bowl host. I can't recall who it was but I thought it was interesting. While I'm not sure how the SEC absorbs the cost of unsold ticket allotments I know in the B1G's case those losses are absorbed as a conference, not laid at the feet of a specific school.
LOL. True, dat! Here in the desert, the Fiesta Bowl is hosted by the U. of Phoenix Stadium in Phoenix (really, Glendale) AZ. Usually it's two teams from some cold, Northern location. LOL! You should hear them bitchin' & moaning as they line up to leave our "warmth" (avg daytime highs of 53-66) for their frozen Northern ice caves--or some such! That's why we're infested with Canadians from the 1st of October.....We like their money too. I still have to maintain my pool, though! All year! Meh.
