Les Miles' LSU Tigers are 22-21 over .500 when trailing in the 4th quarter, that's better than any coach or team in the nation.
I saw that too. The flip side of that is that we have been behind more times in the 4th quarter than any other team listed except Texas.
We're probably the best team to struggle with putting teams away on a regular basis. Last night I thought to myself, here we go again, Wisconsin gets the ball with a few minutes left with a chance to win. Miles has a flair for the dramatic and absurd.
We just really have a harder time of jumping out to big leads because every team will without a doubt load the box and dare us to throw. We start passing with efficiency and those holes will open in the running game.
15 of those 22 wins have been against teams ranked in the top 25. Makes that number all the more impressive IMO.
Wonder how those 22 games against ranked non conference opponents and 15 wins compare to everyone else.
So on 43 occasions we were behind going into the 4th quarter. That's not a position I'd like to be in.
