I mean the dude lost his phucking mind yesterday, benching McNabb for Sexy Rexy Grossman. Grossman should not be on an NFL team, much less be your backup, much less come in with 2 minutes to go in a comeback attempt against an inferior opponent in a crucial game.

You likely lost your QB and probably your entire team on that move.

Wow, these coaches that come back a few years later after having great success, aren't ever the same it seems.

Donavan McNabb's record trailing late in the 4th quarter...... 2-12-1 Wasn't that much of a gaffe. Just a gamble that didn't pay off.

I can see benching McNabb for some one that had a proven 2:00 minute record but bench McNabb for Rex Grossman? Thats a major WTF?!!!

but he isn't out of shape

    You watch much Redskin football?

If you're out of shape as a QB it would stick out like a sore thumb. McNabb is the same QB he has been for the past 10-11 years. He has never been a gym rat but at the same time his athleticism is what has kept him successful in this league all this time.

    Shanahan is a total douche.

Perhaps he has serious doubts about McNabb's ability to run a 2 minute drill. He seems to be a good QB but has choked many times. Of course, Grossman was not a stellar replacement. But Shanahan is the one getting paid to coach and coaches have to make some tough decisions at times. Payton has made some harsh decisions with some players (like benching Hartley for missing a field goal). I like coaches who aren't afraid to try and win at all costs. Just think if Miles could make these decisions.

That's not something that just "comes out." That's something that everyone notices, like with Russell. No one has, to my knowledge, considered McNabb to be a fat, lazy QB.

And to answer izzy's question. I thought he was a great hire, and I still think he's a good coach, but after yesterday, I think he could have lost the team and marked his own demise. Pretty crazy stuff.

And to follow this genius move, today the Redskins worked out JeMarcus Russell and JP Losman.

    WOW!!!
