We needed every out he got today. Josh Bell was living lucky. Every hard hit ball was right at somebody and he fooled a lot of our hitters with his stuff. Nate retired 18 in a row at one point and kept them in the game until we could bust through. I'm drained. Did not want to lose the series to the WarChickens. Ole Richdog called Nate a bum early in the season. I'll take that bum every Sunday.

Bumstead is the man...... We wouldn't have made the CWS without him last year... and we'll need him to get there again this year.....

Bumstead is a gamer, and Greg Smith came in and did a great job as well. Greg's ERA is below 0.5 now. He is simply dominating hitters in his role as a relief pitcher.

Whatever dude. I don't like how he won't pull his starters and go to our bullpen. We have a capable bullpen and we almost lost today because he didn't go to it. Also he continues to overpitch our starters. Dirks might destroy his arm after this year. You know Bertman was accused of overpitching McDonald, and he did, but Bertman only had 3 pitchers. We don't, we have a good amount of pitchers.

I don't believe Laval is a good manager of the game. He can coach but, he doesn't make alot of good decisions. Like last year, Laval was gonna save Mirer, and in our elimation game we lost because of it. I rather have Bianco as coach. Say whatever you want but I'm an LSU fan and I don't know if Laval will win the big game for us.

You just cannot please some peoples' children. First of all, it's Meier, not Mirer. That's just too much of a Notre Dame reference for me to stomach. Second, Bumstead had less than 100 pitches going into the 9th inning. He had retired 18 f***ing batters in a row. Bell had 115 pitches in the 6th. Third, you know g--damn well that, had Determan or Smith started the 9th and lost the game you would be b*itching about the move. So do us all a favor and keep your incredibly stupid remarks to yourself. I have a very low tolerance for stupidity and you drove me to the medicine cabinet with that one. One last thing. The contest for most stupid post ever is over. You can claim your prize.

In college baseball, you ride your top arms because the dropoff between them and your bullpen if often considerable. Sure, we have talented guys like Smith to turn to, but Bummy had just thrown 8 shutout innings with no signs of tiring. He really had no stressful innings (high pitch counts) to that point, so he looked pretty solid to protect a 3 run lead. but, things can go bad quickly, so Smoke acted at just the right time. It was the right time because we won. ;)
