"It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?”

“You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.”

“I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.”

“…Don’t put him [Magic] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.”

Apparently this isn't the first time Sperling has made racist comments. Maybe he and Bundy can be buds. Wrong, vile, stupid are about the kindest words that I can say about the SOB.
The team is in a terrible position...they are in the playoffs and winning is a personal and career goal they have had for a lifetime so boycott is an impossible decision.
The league should suspend Sperling and if possible force him to sell the team. There is no place for tolerance in this. Yes Sperling has the right to his opinion however stupid and vile. However he is an owner in a league that is overwhelmingly minority, a fan base that has significant minority and in a country that such public expression is objectionable.
His standing demands more responsible actions and while he has the right he is also liable for the reaction.

What does that have to do with what he said?

I feel for the players and coaching staff and management who have nothing to do with this POS (i.e., his view point).

Now they have to deal with this very big outside distraction.

The commissioner is going to hold a press conference tonight in Memphis.

I think it is relevant. She is the one he is allegedly talking to in the audio and she is mentioned in a lawsuit filed by the wife for her gold digging ways. Wonder if she supplied the tape? Maybe she didn't get the correct Bentley model she requested.

And I just saw on ESPN where they reported the LA NAACP chapter was going to give him some type of award next month which has now been cancelled.

Yes, what he said was wrong, but all the media whining about it are forgetting that the man has a right to exercise his first amendment rights, just like everyone else, no matter how stupid it sounds. If you don't like it, and evidently this man has a history of it, then don't sign with his team. The economics will bite him in the ass and he'll be forced to sell. Condemning the man for saying something stupid, forcing him to sell because of a recorded phone conversation, that just may be unconstitutional.

I understand your point...but if he said those things and with the past he has (sued and lost for discrimination several times) the source if accurate isn't as important to me as the substance of his comment and state of mind.

She is no saint but people are often convicted and sent to prison by testimony of other criminals. If the tape is verified then that becomes the salient fact.
