Does anybody think that Michael Clayton may regret his decision to go pro with the recent developments regarding Larry Fitzgerald and Mike Williams? My thoughts when he came out were that this is a good decision because he might be the 2nd to 4th reciever taken in the draft this year and if he waits until next year, he'll definately be behind Fitzgerald and Willliams. Next year best case scenario, he would be the 4th reciever taken in the draft, more likely, 5th or 6th. With Fitzgerald and Williams coming out early, I think this was a surprise for Clayton. I don't think that if he knew the other two were coming out he would have gone pro.

I think Mike Williams is the only surprise......it was pretty much a fact that Fitzgerald was going to go pro!!! So in my opinion, I don't think he regrets it.

If the Clarett thing hadn't pooped up fitzgerald may not have even tried to ask for the right to be put in the draft, so I don't think that was a given myself. But Clayton's main reasoning according to what he said was that with an unproven QB situation coming up next year his numbers could drop a bunch next year and that may have hurt him even more. But if he knew the other 2 were going to be in the draft he may have looked at it a lot closer, all receivers would have had too.

He's an instant multi-millionaire regardless of which round he gets drafted. END OF STORY

yep he is fine will be top 20 instead of probably top 12 due to williams coming out. will be impressive and devery won't be far behind. fact is, many teams are overly impressed with devery and thinking they will get a steal early 2nd rd. Marquise will be move up a lot as well. all 3 of these guys are set. anyone who was saying marquise screwed up and cost himself money makes me laugh really hard.

Didn't Fitzgerald declare before Clarett won his case? Plus Fitz's case was different since he spent a year in prep school I think he was gone either way.:geaux: :lsug:

exactly, Fitzgerald's decision had nothing to do with Clarett's case....even if the Clarett had lost his case, Fitzgerald still would have been allowed to enter the draft because the rule is that all you have to do is be 3 years out of high school and Fitzgerald was 3 years out of high school.

the risk of an injury during his senior year far outweighs being a top 15 pick vs. a top 25 pick. receivers and running backs are always evaluated based on their 40 time. although I'll take clayton's football skills over almost anyone in the draft, he'll never be a speed merchant and, thus, never be a top 10 pick.

my selfish, overly optimistic wish is that the saints trade stallworth and somehow, miraculously, clayton falls into the saints at the beginning of round 2.
