Not very good. The last 2 QBs to win the Heisman, Florida State's Chris Weinke (2000) and Nebraska's Eric Crouch (2001), went on to have subpar bowl games and lost in their shot for the MNC. You have to go to the hated Danny Weurfel (1996) to find the last QB to win the Heisman and his bowl game for the National Title. Just a hunch, but I think Jason White will see a defense like none he has seen before. As long as our corners can stay with Perkins and Clayton, we will dominate the defensive side of the ball. YOU ARE NO DANNY WEURFEL MR. WHITE...PLEASE DO TELL WHAT THE ROOF OF THE SUPERDOME LOOKS LIKE ON YOUR BACK!
I can't wait to see this Heisman guy on his back side. kinda like Eli was........... and I hope it ends the same way........ tripping over his O-line as the clock ends........
Let's just hope the streak continues. He is a good QB and great leader, but I still think Larry should of won the heisman. I think its going to make our defense even hungrier. I would love to see Lavalais or Spears to sack him and do the heisman pose or something! hahaha.
Quit knocking Danny Woefull.. He was a good NFL... er, college quarterback... with his elf like hands and backwards helmet.
does our defense this year have a nickname? If not, I vote "The Heisman Crushers" when we beat OU, that will be 2 out of the 4 Heisman finalists we handle.
I read in the Sporting News that they were calling it the "Jail Break Defense" because Lavalais used to crack convicts skulls...
I'd like to see us go back to calling them the Chinese Bandits. I know that we don't use the Bandit scheme anymore of rotating players, but it's a name that has history. Besides, our band does still play the Bandit theme song.
Didn't Gino Toretta look like shit in the Sugar Bowl after he won the Heisman? I think it was 1993. Bama 34-13 over Miami FL.
