I was reading a recent copy of Sports Illustrated and the quarterback Darron Thomas from Houston.

He orginally committed to LSU and was fired up to play for LSU. His Mom wanted him to go to LSU.

Then he saw the signing list of LSU and Miles had changed him from QB to "athlete" and apparently wasn't going to give him a shot a QB. He decided to withdraw his commitment from LSU. Miles never spoke to him or gave him a reason.

Now Thomas is the starting QB for Oregon and averaging a gazillon points a game.

    How'd he get away?

Maybe RP had something to do with it, that was probably before the Kick off.

So, a kid withdrew his commitment, but Miles never spoke to him? I call bs on that.

even the high school coach said that Miles has never spoken to him (the coach) and the player about why Miles decided to change the recruit from quarterback to athlete

bottom line, is we could have had the starting QB from Oregon but Miles didn't see him as a QB

guess we'll find out in the first game of next season

So you assume that he would have been a great LSU QB, had Miles not botched his recruitment? You mean like Masoli...who is a better QB than he is...is raping the SEC?

He's only a star because of the system that he plays in. Oregon runs that wide-open, spread option offense. So it's a moot point.

Oregon's passing tree is beyond simple. In fact, it's basically two routes: "Go Deep", and "turn around at the line of scrimmage." Basically, Darron Thomas is much better equipped to succeed as a QB in that type of scheme, than in whatever the hell it is that we do on offense.

Miles may have talked to him about coming in as an athlete, IDK.

All I know is that there is not an official list for Miles or the staff to update commitments's positions. Maybe a staff member talked to him about it or the only other possibility is that another prospect told him that he was coming in as an athlete after talking to our staff. But he couldn't have seen some list with a position change from LSU.
