I wouldn't say he did nothing wrong but yes, this is a very stupid case. I don't see any jail time as justifiable.

No way he gets anything more than a misdemeanor. The cops weighed the brownies as a whole b/c he used hash oil instead of using marijuana.

He's in Round Rock which is a suburb of Austin. They sort of get it over there.

If this had happened in the Bible belt, however......

I know you don't want to face facts lasalle but he was wrong to break the law. The law should be changed I agree and he shouldn't face life in jail or any jail for that matter. However he took the risk and doesn't deservere too much pity.
Had he be a bible thumper who broke an equally absurd law you would be raking him over the coals. Work to change the laws..you have my support but don't excuse stupid.

The law is stupid, there are sodomy laws in the United States, if when you get home there is a bikini model with some oil in her hand saying oh Winston, do me anal, are you gonna say.....eh maybe I shouldn't, it's against the law.

That's what marijuana laws are, stupid, outdated, ridiculous. And the people who enact them and enforce them are for them are stupid, outdated, and ridiculous.

So how many times have you been busted? Everybody in town probably knows they can go to LaSalle's house and get buzzed. And people like to talk

I kind of admire the kid's entrepreneurial spirit. Thats the first time I ever heard of anybody selling pot brownies. He had to figure out how much pot to put into the brownies to give his customers a good buzz and how much to charge for them based on his costs. How many good quality brownies can you get from an ounce of weed? And the better the weed the more expensive the brownies. Gotta keep your customers coming back and still make a profit.

I'm sure the kid knew he was breaking the law. Selling small amounts of personal use marijuana in Austin is no big deal. He didn't figure they could trump up the quantity like that. He must have done something to piss off some cop
