I think the new/old logo should please a lot of folks here in the den. I was ambivalent to Toonces, but I didn't grow up in Louisiana since I was a Navy brat. I loved the logo we had when I graduated in 1990, but I did associate it with some really poor football so I didn't have as much problem with a change. That being said, I bought more retro stuff than new stuff. I do like Toonces on one item my wife wears on occasion... http://tigerrag.com/football/toon-out-unpopular-lsu-logo-being-put-to-pasture
Toonces was just pathetic. Tiny armed Tiger looked like he was driving a car. And coming out of a hurricane? After Katrina? Toonces Light was far better, but still too evocative of the hideous original. This is apparently the new logo and all I can say is . . . cats have ears, keep working on it.
I personally never liked the eye of the tiger. Thirty some odd years and I've tried to let it grow on me, but I hope this new logo takes its place.
I'm good with the eye as well. Anything "should" be better than toonces but I say that with cautious optimism.
It looks great on the field, where they fade out the edges. But when it is small artwork, like on the new LSU license plates or a T-shirt, it just looks like a blob from any distance other than really close-up.
@LSUpride123 I can do either on a shirt, I would like the eye on like a golf shirt, just a small one. The LSU in the Geaux font is never a bad buy
