With Tennessee losing to Florida and their 2 point guards out, it looks unlikely that they have a shot at a #1 even if they were to win the SEC tourney. Obviously they don't even have a shot if they don't do that. At the moment, the ACC has 3 of the top 4 teams in the polls. I think UNC, Duke and LSU can be pencilled in as #1s, but can Maryland grab the last #1 for the ACC? Ohio State or Rutgers might be in line for it and another conference champ would seem like a little more balanced seeding. Of course, this assumes Maryland doesn't win the ACC tournament!

I can't recall if the SEC has ever received more than 2 #1s, though I know it's at least been close.

IMO, Duke, UNC, LSU and UConn end up with the #1 seeds while Maryland, Rutgers, Oklahoma and Tennessee receive #2 seeds.

I just think that in the ACC, even though they have 3 teams in the top 4, one of those 3 will lose too early--and if that team is Maryland, then I think they'll get bumped from a #1 seed. And if that happens, I predict UConn to defeat Rutgers in the Big East Tournament finals to move into the last #1 seed for the NCAA Tournament.

HA! Then I guess that I'll have to question UCONN and Rutgers to keep my wallet closed!

UNC is a lock. Duke and LSU are right behind UNC. After that, it could be a number of teams. Look for it to be decided during Conference Tournaments.

Maryland and Tennessee could get it if they win their own tournaments.

If maryland and TENN were to both win their tournaments, who would you pick to go as a #1 over the other?

It really depends. If Marlyland beat UNC and Duke then they would have a good case. It would also depend on how far UNC, Duke, and LSU went in those tournaments. A lot of different scenerios.

With UConn losing to Rutgers last night, Rutgers won the Big East and is higher ranked. Unless UConn blows through them in the conference tourney, it's tough to see them with a #1.

There's always something riding on conference tourneys and it seems to be even more every year for the women, which is obviously a sign of the growth in competitiveness of the sport. Depending on how the ACC, Big East and Big 10 go it looks like Maryland, Rutgers, UConn, Ohio State or ??? could snag the last #1.
