Plans on taking visits to LSU, Florida, Auburn and UCLA

So while not necessarily a decommit per se, he is doing a little looking around to make sure he picked the right school.

You always end up with 1 or 2 kids doing this when they commit early to your school.

How long have you been following recruiting? This is about my third year of following it and this year has just about turned me off of recruiting. (Not because of who LSU is getting/not getting, but because it seems pointless since no one knows what's going on apparently). Would you consider this year an exeption or a trend?

No. Following recruiting sucks. This year is no different than any other year.

I follow it, but I certainly do not get emotionally invested in it. At the end of the day, it's a bunch of 18 year old kids clamoring for the spotlight.

I'm not trying to be cynical, that's just the way it is.

Agreed it's no different that any other year.

This year, the exception is that it was the best class Louisiana has put out by far and we may end up losing 5 of the top 6 which were pretty much 5 star players or very close, which is unacceptable.

So everything is being scrutinized a lot more. And rightfully so.
