Did anyone out there watch the press conference? If so, does anyone know the identity of the reporter that is always giving Saban the redass with his stupid questions? I think today he asken Saban to "compare" Marlon Favorite to another current or former LSU player and Saban wouldn't bite. Saban says it is unfair to put that kinda pressure on a kid when you compare them to an All-SEC or NFL player. (paraphrased.)
Anyway, someone should talk to this guy. He should know by now to have his ducks in a row and all his wording correct when you try and match wits with Saban. Nick is not one to say something that he knows might come back and bite him in the ass.

Saban's handling of the press reminds a bit of the way Jim Mora used to: "Don't you understand ? 'No comment' means that I have no comment ! "

I love the way Saban handles the media. He even made one comment that the media started "self-policing" after one "bad" question was asked. That was pretty damn funny cause Saban said it was great that they were finally learning something. The whole room erupted, well maybe everyone except the guy asking the "bad" question...

He wanted him to compare Marlon with Anthony MacFarland. Saban said it wouldn't be fair to do that and he didn't want the kid to have to live the rest of his life with that weight on his shoulders. The perfect answer.

No, the reporters are not identified ....

when they ask their question. The camera stays on the speaker behind the podium at all times, in this case Saban. You can't even hear what question is being asked. You'd think we'd could get this press conf. stuff more organized if we're going to show video of them. How bout having the press speak into a mike, maybe centrally located where they can come and ask then sit.

The reporter that asked the question was Lee Zurig, the new orleans guy who looks like he wears a lot of makeup.

Damn it's nice to have such a smart coach! If only the Saints would learn.

I have not heard a single thing come out of Saban's mouth that was not well thought out and articulate. He says the right thing but that in no way means he says what people want to hear. In fact, quite the opposite, he says what he firmly believes. I have never heard a coach represent himself and his school as well as Nick Saban does.

And he's a frickin football genius on top of all that.

Amen. I hope everyone realizes that not only should we be thankful for the football mind that he has, but more importantly the example of integrity that he exhibits. LONG LIVE SABAN!
