true for the purposes of revenue, but this is about politics. its not like romney wouldnt pay for public use of the music. the issue is the politics, silversun pickups wuld almost surely let obama play them for free.

Your looking at the tree - step back and look at the forest. That quality equipment that makes quality recording was developed by people who worked for money. If the music industry couldn't afford to pay them what they wanted to build that electronic stuff - they would have built electronic stuff for some other industry. And so it goes with everything in the music business. If there was never copyright protection; we would be listening to inferior crap.

thats simply not true. that is like saying no one will bother to make fancy bottled water if tap water is virtually free.

and anyways, all my predictions are coming true, as spotify is really profitable. they are changin the revenue models for media. they are making it easier to work within the system than to to steal.

they are updating their strategies for things like product placement. there is a company that places modern ads into the backgrouds of tv shows. like you can watch a 2009 rerun of how i met your mother an there is a poster for the new bourne movie in the background of the scene. so the show is profitable forever with modern product placement. and moveies like transformers are basically chevy ads. and apple has a system that pays tv shows and movies to make the characters use iphones. and this is the future. a free product can be very profitable.

    thats a terrible

without signing away to a label it costs very little on all of the above.

Was it Radiohead who gave their album for free or you could donate/pay and it debuted at #1? They controlled all the costs and every dime was practically profit. a winning model.

yes they are basically the new youtube (for music) who fought the same legal issues but its changing pretty fast, relatively speaking.

is google directly responsible for all this?
