I'm a die hard Tiger fan...over the years have traveled to nearly every SEC stadium plus VaTech and Arizona. Probably been to Tuscaloosa seven or eight times and on and on...just a few more SEC stops and I'll have been to them all. South Carolina is one of those three I haven't been to yet so next weekend I'm really looking forward to going to Columbia and I have field passes...on the Carolina sideline. I will need to wear a Cock polo-shirt and dress exactly like their coaches. How in the world will I be able to keep my emotions inside behind SC's bench while the game is going on. Other Tiger fans say I must be crazy to wear a USC shirt, but how many opportunities will I get to be on the field at S. Carolina? I figure for one game I can handle not wearing the purple and gold to experience being on the field behind Lou Holtz, besides I know where my heart is. I'm just afraid if LSU pulls out a close one in the end and I jump around I'm liable to get killed! Oh well... :geaux:
I wouldn't do it. I would buy a ticket and sit in the stands. Whatever circumstances led you to sell your soul and wear GameChickens apparel just to get a sideline pass? Do you really want to spend all of eternity in Tiger Hell? Think about it. LSU makes a great play and you start cheering. You already have stated that the posiblility of getting killed is eminent. You are living on borrowed time. You may only have a few weeks to live before you are forcibly sent to eternal damnation. There is a special Hell for turncoat former Tiger fans who get pecked to death by chickens. Do you really want to be seasoned, coated with flour and dropped into a deep fat fryer over and over until every Tiger fan has picked over your bones and licked our Finger Likin' Good paws? The 60 minutes of Hell you experience after an LSU loss is nothing compared to the 60 trillion milleniums of torment you you are risking just for a chance to be on the sidelines for the appoximately three hours that the game will last unless it goes into overtime. Buy a ticket and save your soul
All I know about Columbia is that that is where FT. Jackson is and there wasn't a lot of fun stuff going on there. I guess one day I'll have to go back and see what the rest of the city has to offer.
Pull a WWF and mid way through the first quarter rip off your South Carolina shirt to reveal the purple and gold LSU shirt...
I was in SC in August and I passed through Columbia. Went to the stadium and all. Of course just passing through to go to Charleston to check on a crew I did not see much in Columbia. But I flew my wife in for a weekend and we had a great time in Charleston. If you love historic houses and the stories that go with them, I highly suggest going there. Also, anyone looking for cheep flights, check out Savanah. I booked a flight for my wife in less than a weeks notice for $230 round trip from NO. It's a New airport.
Don't let them discourage you ... I've often "CROSSDRESSED" as an Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama or Gator fan. Just wore jeans and a Polo shirt matching the team colors. JUST LOVE TO BUY BLOCKS OF TICKETS IN GOOD LOCATIONS AND TURN AROUND AND SELL THEM TO LSU FANS Bond ... James Bond ... dith ditdit dith ... dooo doo do Want to have a real blast ... wait till the win and walk over on the LSU side pull your shirt off and walk out with the Tigers ... LOL Hope you don't get detained or arrested. Go for it.
Here's a new twist...now I've been invited to the Yankee/Sox games six and seven in NYC on row one behind 3rd base dugout...If I did both, I would certainly be divorced...what a week that would be...Wed/Thu in NYC for the Yankees and Red Sox with awesome seats and access to player parties after the game and the Fri/Sat/Sun in Columbia with field passes and going to Carolina coaches party after the game Sat...only if my wife would understand and I had an extra $1,000 ducks!
