Pop Quiz: If you are coaching LSU in this ball game, and you win the toss......What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?

If it were me. I take the ball and throw everything I got at them. Get on the board early and increase the pressure on young Eli.

I agree with taking the ball first if we win the toss. Didn't we win it against Florida and give them the ball first? The guy sitting next to me was complaining about this before the opening kickoff and all the way until he left early in the 3rd quarter. I think I'm naming my first two children Josh and Reed (regardless of sex). I think those are better names than Stromile anyway.

Yep - I would take the ball this time. Saban has defended the opposite view because "statistically teams usually don't score on the first possession". But that view haunted us vs Florida and I believe we had a close call against MSU. This game will not be a cakewalk. We have to silence them and we can't do that by giving them the first scoring opportunity.

On the other hand. it might actually be better to lose the toss. That way if they choose the receive then Saban gets his way anyway.

Well, I am not goin to break the streak here. I think we should take the ball and score first. Getting on the board first will be huge in this game, as it would any other.

If we when the toss, and we receive, and we don't score it is not the end of the world, so I say go for the points early, and if we fail to score on the first possesion all we have to do is stop them. My gut feeling is whoever scores first will win.

    I dissagree.

The LSU offense has trouble scoring early. They need to get in a rhythm, wear out the D-line so we can run on them. There is a very good chance the offense will go three and out, and the Tigers will give the ball to Ole Miss right away anyway, without getting the ball in the 3rd quarter. I'm not willing to take that chance.

We would be ok with yall gettin the ball first

Our play tends to get better in the second half. That would be one more chance for us to score when we do it best. If we're down, we'll be throwing more in the second half as well.
