I'm starting to read that the University of Texas is gauging the interest of David Shaw, Charlie Strong, and Les Miles among others. Let me preface my hypothetical question by saying this: there is approximately a 0% chance that he leaves, and I understand that. I wanted to get your thoughts on this hypothetical question.....without being assholes, what would y'all think about it if Les Miles bolted to Austin? Who would you want for CLM's replacement? Remember, that if Coach Les Miles beats Iowa in the Outback Bowl, that this will be his 4th 10 win season in a row. An LSU record. Discuss.
To quote the great Steve Elkington "come on, you're pulling my sausage mate" I have said it before, I will say it again. Would not hurt my feelings. I am confident that LSU is in a good enough position to hire a more than qualified coach that will be able to maintain if not surpass the success of Leslie Edwin.
LSU probably would be fine but I am not in favor of taking a guy out unless the success ends. It does make me wonder.....could Les win a National Championship with Mac Browns guys?
Maybe he could. There is no lack of talent at UT. They are loaded with 4 star and 5 star recruits. The problem the last few years has been the coaches development of the talent they have.
Les is on their list, for a couple reasons. He is known an well respected by coaches in Tx. Also who does he bring with him, Chief and Cam. That's a big selling point, real big. That said, not moving from BTR, an I know about Smacker on the swim team. UT knows if Mich couldn't move him, they can't Won't go into anymore detail .
