Even if its removed entirely from the Federal Schedule list, states that oppose marijuana will still keep it on their respective schedule lists. Louisiana imo will never de-schedule pot, and will be the last remaining stronghold for keeping it illegal.

Shit, Mississippi is as Bible Belt as it gets, and it's been de-criminalized there. I think this thing is on the verge of being busted wide open. It all starts with FL next, then the feds' classification of it and then it will domino from there.

One can only hope. I don't see the harm in using pot as opposed to the harms of alcohol and tobacco. But there seems to be a ton of anti propaganda to over come.

In all honesty pot should be treated like tobacco in terms of age restrictions for use, and the availability to buy good quality OTC... cut out the street vendor and the violence thats associated with it. And spend the tax revenue on our failing public school system, instead of lining school board members pockets. Will it happen... guess we'll see.

It will definitely be an issue in the 2014 Congressional elections and the 2016 Presidential elections. I wonder which party will be on the wrong side of the issue?

I can already tell you the Conservatives won't be jumping on this bus, one thing I hate about the Conservatives is their slow to coming around on modern issues.

I think they may be more on board that they lead on. I'm sure the Tea Party is against it in the name of Jesus Christ Almighty.....but I get the feeling that many conservatives can see this as a stream of revenue that just didn't exist before. Of course, they are waiting for someone to lead the charge and we all know that there is not much leadership in the GOP that is good at that. Maybe Christie will? IDK

I tend to agree. One segment of the Republican party that is growing are Libertarians and I think the Libertarians will be supportive of legalization, or at the very least, decriminalization.
